Let's Talk DR

It has recently come to my attention that I just don't have the grasp on DR that I'd like to have. What are the ways to get DR (shield blocking, base shield bonus, warforged, barbarian, etc) and what are the stacking bonuses (shield, racial, etc)? What's the current highest DR in the game and what was used to get it?

shield feats with a hound shield along with a warforge blocking would give you the highest; this involves either the titan clickie or the more feasible defiance proc.

out of all of that, the shield feats contribute the least. Actively blocking and the docent contribute the most.

For a fighter either use a shield, be a warforge, or make shroud stoneskin clickies (or have enough umd for wands). All the items in DDO are at best 5/dr (e.g. symbiot trinket) which will not be satisfactory enough for the current end game in my opinion or likely for next mod (I have not played end game quests in Beta and can not talk about even if I did because of the NDA). Fighters could very well be more dependent on casters/clerics in the future then barbarians who knows so any way I can reduce that dependency for my fighter the better I feel.

Note: an interesting guard that someone could make for their fighter is the DT earthen guard which might be very effective.

I did build a max WF dr build a while back capped him and the highest dr I could get while attacking was 10 dr. thats taking addy plate body, improved dr feat @ 3,6,9,12, and 15 and all the WF enhancments. The blocking dr with a tower shield on him is 19. His dps is gimped out but I built him has a pally and should have went fighter instead.
