DDO Myths

As we have recently been reminded, there are some supersticious players out there. Diplo-ing a chest; pulling the levers in the correct order to get a rare to spawn, these are some examples.

I would like to know some of the other, more outlandish ways that people like to "make" things happen in Stormreach.

You can't re-stealth after being spotted.

Also that blur and displacement help the dogs in the Hound of Xoriat. That's right, two spells that affects sight against a monster with blindsight.

Some people think that if you use a Muckbane to kill Muck, you can't get a Muckbane from the chest.

Also many people still believe that GH on the small dogs in Hound will cause them to break their charm sooner.

You should see the rituals I go through when crafting.

Everything must be just so:

When merging materials into the shard I always make sure that the essence opposes the power cell with the shard dead center.

I also make sure that when merging the shard into the weapon/item The item being crafted is always between the shard and the cell.
Guaranteed higher proc % !!

Diplo doesnt just end with chests and npc....
heck no!
It also comes in handy for collectable bags/tables/rubble etc.

Alot of my friends laugh and laugh and laugh, silly Slink and his habits..
Guess who they ask when they need a few luminescent dusts/lightning split?

The problem with using diplo on a chest is that you forgot 2 important steps or it won't work:

1. Cast bless on the chest; and
2. Circle the chest 3 times, left to right.

Of course, without performing foregoing you will never pull raid loot.

You forgot a few more that I sometimes forget when on my cleric.
Sometimes protection from evil, no evil loot!
And always recitation and prayer even before taking that GT out of the vale to get your end list.

It always gets a good chuckle when I throw those down and say over mic, "Loot Buffs"

Something else I used to do way back before the days of Korthos..

If I didnt get enough copper from the breakables, I'd reroll immediately.

Breaking point was 200 copper, above character survived, below got reroll.

I always request a dancing ball be put on the raid chest in raids Im leading. I've also been known to hug a raid chest from time to time.

The command to view the number of times your character has died is not /Deathcount.

In reality, it's /Deathquery.

• Everybody has to be in the instance when the portal in pt 1 of the shroud is opened, otherwise they can't enter the quest.
• If you open the chests in pt4 before someone is raised, they won't get loot.
• You can't sing inspire courage for the little dogs because they break charm quicker (this is theoretically true but I haven't seen it make a bit of difference).
• If you don't get the puzzles in pt3 done in 10 minutes, two walls spawn (actually I'm not sure if this one is a myth or not - anyone tested?)
• Mass Owls allows you to hit portals that haven't spawned yet (can't think who might've spread that one)
• You can increase the DC of grease with heighten
• Hypnotism spell affects oozes
• Efficacy potions give back spellpoints
• Marut regenerate hp from fire attacks
• Kygret has an anti-ac aura (ha, whoever came up with that one?!)

Not sure if the bit about 10 minutes is accurate, but yes, you can see multiple walls in pt 3. I've seen two walls spawn, they move in opposite directions of one another. I've heard of runs where three walls spawn, but haven't seen this myself. Fortunately these were all long, long ago when the shroud was still a new raid.

Only ever seen 1 wall, but it's been months where I've been in a group that took that long.

Like most other girls I used to like to dance around the chest ... sit down in it ... and then tell the rogue to come pick my locks. Not quick sure 'bout the rest of the loot but I do bloody hope they felt they got a treasure.

If you get everyone to dance before the chest in the pit it will spawn muck doom, but wait I seen it happen three times once I was with a group for a one time run, we got at least two muck dooms, so I willing do to it again, we did two runs and there two the chest. our third run one guy refused and no muck dooms were in the chest..
