Thoughts on a Cleric 12 / Ranger 6 / Monk 2

Hello Everyone,

I read this on the forums where someone just threw this out there on another thread (the title escapes me right now). I solo alot and LOVE clerics, so this build intrigued me, but I have very limited time to play and am not that great at formulating builds. So, I was hoping that someone has tried this out and might have a build to post, or at least some pros and cons of a build like this.

I think the biggest problem you're going to face is the fact that people will see Cleric and expect heal bot. This leads to the problem of them not wanting to use potions and you being out of SP a lot because of something like the stereotypical STR/CON Barbarian is dying faster than the Titanic sank. As two worlds meet you shall find yourself while in a group mostly playing nanny for people rather than actually in melee because healing makes you stop to cast spells. Many will question your effectiveness towards actual melee so you might get some funny looks. Other than that Cleric/Monk is a great combo for survival and with Tempest you can melee decently. You'll have access to Blade Barrier which won't be as effective as a 15th level Cleric's but still atleast have it, along with many other nice things like Heal and True Seeing. This should be pretty decent for solo on most of the game's content.

if anyone looks at a build with 8 levels of non-cleric and thinks ANYTHING but battlecleric, they are a moron...heck, if they even expect to get a heal from this build I would consider them an idiot (one step higher thana moron). You MIGHT get healed between fights using scrolls but thats about it.

plus, the way that you can always get around this problem is to create your own groups. When someone joins YOUR group, they really don't have any business questioning anything about your build.

You could take a look at this build as well. A 12/6/2 battlecleric with decent dps, great ac and great saves.
