    Lightbulb Power Favoring

I think its time DDO opens up the difficulty setting on dungeons to allow us to choose what difficulty we want to do the dungeons at. Meaning if I want to try a dungeon on elite, I shouldn't have to do it on normal and hard first.
The reasons I want this is so I can A) power favor to 400 and 1750 quickly on toons and servers, and B) there is just some dungeons with some builds that I find to be a complete waste of time to go through normal and hard cause they really don't offer a challenge, either soloing or with a party!
They of course could restrict this on new content, but on old content, come on, some players have ran these dungeons hundreds of times.
Perhaps they could make this favor based or level based? If you reach, say 1750 favor on a toon then all dungeons of level 10 and lower have the difficulty settings open on the next toon you make?

Default Good idea. How about earning ALL favor?

I think if you earn all the favor currently possible, yes, that means all quests and RAIDS completed on ELITE.

Ooo, and if they were really evil, you even had to complete all the slayer areas.

    This means
Dreams of Insanity - not a fun quest to do especially for the icky non-loot
Spawn of Whisperdoom - at least as something cool to get
Faithful Departed - why even bother
That mummy quest in Delera's graveyard which I cannot think of at this moment
Proof is in the Poison - I hate this quest
Made to Order - those duergars are mean and the traps are killer. I went in with a bunch of 16s when I was level 9 and everyone died multiple times on elite. I knew I was toast but I was surprised how quickly the duergar could take down the 16s and the traps were just killer.
Desert Caravan - which I actually enjoy doing so I can go to the desert from House P. I do plan on dying a lot though.

Might actually be run more than a rare once in a while.

I survived the scary events in 2009, 2010, and 2011. 2011 did not reward those that played by the rules.

Next mod you can start on hard, if that's any better.
Jeets said he wouldn't tell Turbine. ;(

Better, but I'd still like it all open(gives me that freedom of choice feeling lol)
Especially for areas like Korthos Island and the Harbor.
I love the idea for the full favor, but the problem is they keep raising that cap. So I think they would have to set it somewhere. Make it a nice round number for the next mod. 3000 favor sounds nice!

I really like this idea. After all, if you have a character with 1750 you can do the swap to open most dungeons for your party, then swap back to the character you're really going to play. It's just unnecessarily slow. This would eliminate the extra steps before you could set foot in the dungeon.
Suggestion to Turbine: Have new character slots open up automatically based on months since account start date.
Update: EU+Store = close enough. Thank you.

    Default Based on character level?

Basically a lvl 2 quest can be opened on normal by a level 2 character, on hard by a lvl 3, elite by a lvl 4?

Meaning low level stuff could be power favored.... high level stuff like vale (lvl 16) refuge (lvl 17) or VOD/Hound (lvl 18) could not.... until the cap goes up of course..

What difference would it make? If you want to power favor now all you have to do is switch over a higher level toon to open it up. This would just remove a pointless step.

My dear Leylia... had reached past 1750 by level 7 on Reidra... and that was back pre-desert when the picking of quests for favor were near all for 1750. Run it all elite and it mounts up quickly and easily... 't is no difficulty finding elite openers among friends.

This has been discussed many many times. I can only hope and pray that this never ever happens. It might be easier if you would just request an easy button and after you click on it your level 16 with max favor, why bother running any quests at all. The system as it is helps to get players to run more quests than just the ones people think are more popular.

I personally have characters with at least 1750 favor on all servers but one. It was really not that hard and fun to run through all of those older quests that I liked when I first started the game. Many of those I ran on elite by just putting up an LFM and most of the time someone will join that can open it up on a harder difficulty than you can.

Or you could just have aplat farmer type run your character for you and notify you when he/she is maxed out or to the point you want. Why bother running pointless quests at all.

I personally am not a fan of power-gaming, but that's just me. Do what you want. I just think it's dumb to add another easy button to the game. To me, at least, games that are so easy there's no element of challenge in it, get boring very quickly.

There are several occasions where this does not work.

    1) You don't have any character that can open it on elite, neither do any party members.

    2) You are solo, with only one account/computer, and no friends are available to help you out.

    3) Chain quests. Cannot be opened up if you are not on the quest, therefore pt 2-X of chain quests are unopenable without the opener doing the whole chain.

    4) Quests where the quest giver is the quest entrance. These cannot be opened without someone stepping in. If you care about exp, then you need to do N/H/E, find a low level opener, or get no exp.
