I an aussie, 30 years of age looking for a guild. I've only just purchased the retails box after playing DDO:EU beta.
Haven't made a character yet, but looking to make a bard.

If you are interested in an adult centered guild, mine is open to new members from all walks of life and all areas around the world. Is there a particular time you play or playstyle you are looking for? Do you see yourself more layed back casual player, power-gamer or roleplayer? My guild is open to any playstyle nor is there many restrictions put on any guildmember.

Are you also looking for guild only runs, partial guild runs or more pugging than than just with guildmates?

I am a shift worker so I do not have any set in concrete times that I work, so my play times can vary from week
to week. I'm new to the game itself, bar what i've played on the closed beta (which is the reason how I got hooked
on the game). I've played the paper based version, so not new in terms of knowing DnD.

I would plan to run dungeons with guildies, as I perfer the whole group feel, than playing this game solo. This is a MMO after all and leveling a bard solo would be difficult. Once the F2P model goes live, I will also have my partner playing, so the guild would need to be able to accept F2P players into the guild because she would be one.

The other note would be that I fancy roleplaying as well, so I would not rule that out either. Anyway, I hope I have answered most questions that anyone may ask. Looking to see everyone in game and enjoy the spirit of the game. Cheers

Without in any way trying to put you off Shadowhand (Quan's guild), I strongly recommend you check out Stormreach Thieves' Guild, which is undoubtably the biggest and most diverse Australian guild on the server.

STRG are a great bunch and, whether or not you end up joining them, sort the user panel by guild and keep an eye out for them.

The Stormreach Thieve's Guild is definitely a big Aussie guild, but we do have people on at various times and we do have some guild alliances to seek for more party members when the need arises.

It is a large but relaxed guild and welcome all sorts especially Aussies.

No problem. Next time it times out just copy all you write before hitting the submit button, you can redo it if it messes up simply by pasting it.

What times you can play is not of super importance. All my guildmates work or go to school so their times vary as well. Log on and have fun when you can. Knowing the D&D rules will help some but they are slightly altered to some extent in DDO so just be mindful of that. Also many in my guild or vets of D&D too which helps in that learning curve in this game. 25+ years of D&D myself.

Although we do guild runs of quests and things, we don't do many guild only. We PuG alot but I am open to those members who wish to be with guild only runs. With the lack of anything really new for the last few months many guildies have either left outright or are taking breaks which means less chances of guild only of anything. We do what we can though. Solo play is not so easy, especially someone starting out but can be enjoyable from time to time when loot running. I solo when I want "me" time, sometimes you just need that freedom. But generally we group and team play.

If your partner is F2P, that is fine but as a guildleader I'd hope she would consider VIP someday. For many reasons, not the least of which would put other guildmates or your partner in a position to not be able to group with us in some situations if like what they announced that some areas would be limited access to F2P accounts. If you personally are willing to take that on, that is good. Yet I can not expect or tell a guildmate to spend points or their own cash for even a guildmate if they do not wish to. So I am hoping to avoid situations like that if they become a concern.

Roleplaying, we have a few guildmates who are into it. Myself, I am a powergamer but I am not opposed to others wanting to roleplay. So even if you do not think my guild is for you, there is Stormreach Theives Guild and others who might suit your needs. Thanks for at least listening to me here. The usual guilds I recommand for newcomers are The Unsung Heroes and Deathwatch Guard. Mythe is the leader of Unsung Heroes and she's very dedicated at helping others, Deathwatch Guard is also a guild that likes to help new players. Another guild I think is good for new players is Stormreach Thieves Guild, it's a larger guild then the two others I mentionned. I think you should start running unguilded when you start and look up at the guilds of the people you have the best time with. Good luck in your search and welcome to DDO and Khyber.

Getting back to this post, i'm currently a level one bard, going by the name of, Izlimak Purdis. Haven't been on much yet, plus i've been reading most of the quest story lines so leveling is going a bit slow, but i'm not overly worried. So if you see me in game, just give me a tell and let me know. Cheers

Hmm never heard that phrase used in any context as to the wood refernce I have heard that one just not to much lately and yes I am in the states, asked a gay couple I know and they hadnt heard of your phrase either.

Another great guild is the Crimson Eagles but you need to run with a member or two and let the see if your a fit personality and playstyle but the other guilds mentioned here are a good place to go, just had to mention the Eagles just wish I could play with them more but have lag issues with khyber and not my other server so I play mostly there.

Thank you for all the warm welcomes. I have managed to find myself a guild, and a very guild at that. Decided to join with "Stormreach Thieves' Guild". That have a good source of australian played that are on about the same time I'm playing. Very nice people and friendly atmosphere. Things are going well and I've managed to get myself to level 4 as a bard.
I would like to that everyone that posted an invite/info to/about their guild as I am sure they have good group of people as well.

I'm not sure about getting any mail in the "unconfirmed" tab before. Been playing for just over a week and have never recieved anything in that part yet.
