First of all while +8 damage is ok, Pit fiend has 75% fort so if you not getting 7d6 +the 8 from goggles then your wasting it.

True Seeing Goggles drop in DQ...

+15 spot does **** for you unless you have +19 levels of spot already and you also need listen skill if your talking about finding hidden mobs.

Lorikk's Champion, Wisdom +6, Wizardry VI, Efficient Metamagic - Empower Healing II

Any class that uses healing spells can put this to use...

Pit Fiend's fort is only 50% I think....

No one is running DQ...

+15 spot is worthwhile and you don't need Listen... +15 spot with GH and a spot of wisdom will let you see most hidden mobs in the game...

Lorrik's Shield is only useful to Clerics (Eternal Faith, Lorrikk's Champion set)
Lorikk's Necklace could be useful for anyone with Empower Healing... which will usually only be clerics (occasionally a bard).

Just plan on doing VoD until you hit your 20th completion. Maybe you'll get the goggles before then, but don't expect to.

Im not sure what you mean if they only had the bracers then you would let them have it? I will have the 2nd part of the set on my DT armor which provides the same bonus. But at least you would perhaps offer and thats better than most people.

Spot is distance based, so the more you have the farther away you see the creature. There's no target number that if unreached renders a creature completely invisible.

This is a fallacy. Monsters who hide have a hide score. If your spot meets or exceeds that hide score then you can see them in their hidden state. If your spot is under that hide score then you won't see them hidden. Distance is not factored.

Lorrik's Shield is only useful to Clerics (Eternal Faith, Lorrikk's Champion set)

Being it is tied with Levik's Shield for DR 15 when blocking Lorrik's is more valuable than Levik's in certain situations, like an arcane using it to block (due to lower Arcane Spell Failure).

If other melee classes aren't allowed to roll on the goggles, then why would they come on the raid? There isnt any other loot in there that benefits them. The only gear that comes close is the full plate but there isn't too many people who would wear that over dragontouched armor. Here's the list, do you see any other reason for a melee to be there?:

Bard's Cloak
Bracers of the Glacier
Enlightened Vestments -
Full Plate of the Defender
Gloves of the Glacier
Tharne's Bracers
Tharne's Goggles

The extra sneak attack damage works on for all melee
True Seeing is not a core rogue skill
Spot is useful to everyone
Search is the only attribute that one could consider "rogue-only"

The reduced Threat combo with the Bracers could also be considered mostly rogue, but most melees who get the goggles aren't interested in the Bracers

Please let me know when your non-rogue has 50+ search or 50+ spot.

20 Spot is useful. You don't need a 50 spot to see hiding monsters.

How many times do people have to mention boss fights? One boss, multiple melee.. Only one person can have aggro... Everyone else gets sneak attack damage. No one is using Diplomacy or trying to avoid aggro...

Those 1-round Part 4s in the Shroud? Pretty good chance most of the melees in there have the goggles... +8 damage is like 16 more STR... more than a barbarian gets from raging... +8 damage is HUGE....
