I have two thief acrobats and neither uses the quarterstaff. The reason for acrobat, in my opinion, is for the immunity to knockdown, increased run speed, clickie boost to dex (AC/to-hit). I hardly believe either of those are in need of the bludgeoning feat. Seriously, a radiance rapier and IC: piercing is much more useful on a rogue (anything).
My 2cp.

Bluff does not screw over party members, Diplomacy does. The idea for the character is a Hybrid Tanking/Rogue. I don't want to chase creatures, I want them on me. Diplomacy defeats the purpose. When you force a creature to feint, they reposition themselves around you opening them up to anyone's sneak attack. Improved Feint and Cleave is a very effective way to kill the strength on a group of creatures.
Of course, I've played with you, so I'm not too concerned about what you think is a useful feat or not with the way you play.

I second this as I am leveling a 5% weighted maul barb myself. I also have a tactics build fighter that uses Sap. He uses sap as the third tactic, trip the first guy, stunning blow the second and sap the third. Of caurse Sap can ne a pain to use in a party since hitting the sapped mob wakes them back up, but for solo, when you are seperated from your party, or you are with a party that knows whats going on, then it works great as there is no save for mobs that can be affected.

This might have had something to do with it:
"Heck, for Improved Feint, you not only waste a feat slot but wasted points in Bluff!"
- Borror
Borror likes the black and white walls of his little box, and tends to belittle anyone who tries to introduce shades of gray into Eberron.
Fair enough (although, I have the same feeling on my rogue about wasting points in Bluff...), but the follow-up point held its own based on its own merit.
Anyway, I do understand the want to put a retort out there, just wanted to mention that I was more impressed before I got to that part of the post..

Why wouldn't people take Tower Shield? Most pure Paladins take it.

I have resilence for situations like tanking DQ and saving on BB or puncturing fire elementals/efreetis in sos..
For me I like 30 reflex save on barb than 26 reflex when you have evasion
