    Default DDO: Unlimited

I have seen a lot of negative feedback on the new system that Turbine is opening up. Here is what you have to consider about this.
I have played many MMORPG games in the last ten years. All of them had more solo content then grouping. The group content was, for older player, pasted by. The new players to the game who wanted the full experience would have to wait forever to get a party to do them. The raids in the games too FOREVER to complete and were set up for the hardcore gamers only. DDO is a VERY group dependent. Though they have created a few areas to solo, and certain dungeons to solo, you really can not level quickly on your own. It could take you days of playing and tons of plat to get just one level once you reach 5 or 6. I have a pally that has, for the most part solo leveled. She is almost at 6 and I have hit a road block. The quests she can solo are no longer giving her the xp needed, and the groups are slim, when I try to work with her.
What I am trying to say that group running will still be needed to a new player coming into our game. The DDO store can buy you many things, but per the press release, will not give you the gear needed to work in high dungeons. Think of a lvl 16 fighter in a +1 Full Plate and Masterworks Great Sword :P.
I have many friends in other games that said they would never play DDO because of the group dependent gaming. But Turbine holds pretty true to the game by not creating a world that make it easier and less of a hassle to solo level. The gear, experience, currency, and overall game play still hold true to P&P games.
I am going to try and persuaded my friends to try the game with a free account. There should be enough content to have them hooked, pay for an account and join our VIP section. I welcome the changes and applaud Turbine for trying to make the game more appealing to all gamers. If this works we should see our server numbers rise and hopefully get a few more great gamers in our little part of the world.
I don’t think that the new system will affect the older player that much. The worse case is the unattended 6 year old that gets on, which happens now.

I don't sign anything very often but this is worthy.

The last thing we need to have in this community is anything that creates a void or division amongst fellow gamers.
Will there always be drama? LOL, you betcha.
I can see alot of divide between a few upper-eschelon types, but that will always exist irregardless.
It is only natural when people are being competitive.

However, with the things that are already being implemented, for instance the new reputation system on the forums.
I can already see the impact this has had as alot of people are really starting to come together and find a way to see eye to eye
on things that honestly dont mean a ****.

    Happy and hopeful,

This is what I've been trying to say - and I have been trying to say they need to stop putting the hate on turbine for this change because the only other alternative they could do is close the game down...
and they DO shut games down go see matrix online.(there has been more but this is most recent one)

When I started reading that other ******** was starting to question if I was playing World of Warcraft again I thought maybe blizzard secretly bought the forums out for their overflow...Anyone who knows about the on going "barrens chat" joke if they played WoW for atleast a year or more will understand what I mean.

It is very interesting the amount of DDO unlimited hate without anyone really seeing what it's going to be like. I was listening to the DDO podcast and one of the regular segment contributors was absolutely bileous about DDO EU, and largely for no reason whatsoever. She was spouting about how Turbine had ruined the game etc... One thing for certain, if you already have a good group of peeps that you play with or a solid guild DDO EU will only have a marginal impact if that is what you want. And the upside is a lot more content if it is successful. Dungeon scaling is pretty cool, I hope that it works as they intend. I often will level a new toon to about 5 or 6 mostly solo, no because I want to solo, mostly because there aren't enough groups available. Anyone who plays at all and compares the experience of solo versus group play will usually go for a group. It's just faster, more effecient, and more fun. I can hardly wait till DDO EU drops and I can buy some more slots!!! It's interesting that some people are really ignoring the fact that Turbine is giving players A LOT of what we've been asking for, extra slots, character customization, potentially more content, and clearly a significant marketing push this time. Am I worried this could screw up the game, yes. Am I going to be negative, absolutely not. I'll wait and see. T

DDO EU has some very large changes to the difficulty of dungeons that were first seen when mod 9 was released to Lamannia. Scaling dungeona and outdoor areas by number of players will siginificantly change solo play in the game for every difficult but elite(no scaling on elite). This will allow a much larger population of solo players, which may or may stay f2p. At most of the end game and raids group play will still reign supreme, but I woudl look out for anew class of player who soloes their way to higher levels and then either makes the leap or stops playing(either rerolling or leaving the game)

You have to wonder if the hate is because of the new content, the long wait for more content, or just bitter people that love to complain. I am a founding member but I just returned after a 1 1/2 year awall so I have work to do before I would be bored with the current content. I still have never taken down the Titan, Serpent Queen, or Abbot. I dont even know where SOS or those other quest are. I need many more green steel items, not to metion getting all my toons back to where they were before I left. I have a solid 6 weeks of work to do before I would look to new content, but I have been gone for a while. I really do feel for the die hard players that have been here since the beginning. You should be rewarded for your dedication to the game. Turbine should give something to every account that has been open and active for the past three years. Like unlimited and free game play. You deserve that I think.

i agree that the changes could be a good thing, if everything breaks right and all the new f2p players are not scared off instantly by game killing lag. however most people are upset that all of the hooplah and waiting and build up towards the announcement is just leading to more ****ing waiting. turbine ownt even provide us with a date to look forward to. who cares about a free beta key? it doesnt count. why are we supposed to test the **** game for them? we want new content on the live servers, like now. no, like last year. all of the ss and vm talk was just ******** to keep the longtime players from cutting bait and running months ago. how long has it been since we have had new content? a year?

my understanding is that current subscribers are going to get a few perks when DDO EU is released. Glad you are back!

Yes that has been a royal pain, but if think about the positives our content drought is going to end soon. yes, we still have to wait, but the whole ddostore thing will take a while to get the bugs worked out, and the last thing we need is to get a huge influx of new player whos first experience is buggy and borked. I personally would like to see Turbine a little more talkative and informative about the new content and other things to come, at least with the beta players.
