Fade2black DDO Skin

Please keep an eye out over the next month for an update to the original Fade2black skin. I've had a lot of requests to update it, so that is exactly what I'll be doing. Version 1.0 of the Fade2black will be released by 05/09/10.

Fade2black v0.1 is the beta version of the dark DDO skin I have created.

I've never been the biggest fan of the gold DDO skin; very archaic and not as sleek as I'd like. So about a month ago I started developing this skin.

This is the first of what will be many updates, as I will be looking to develop this skin progressively over the next few months.

All feedback is welcomed, with the aim of making this skin as good as possible; but please note this is a work in progress and I am aware that some aspects of it are still not perfect.

Looks cool. I like dark. One thing about most skins, not just this one, I've seen, when you mouse over an item for description, due to transparency it's a bit tough to see. All in all nice work. Thanks.


One thing, don't know much about the skin process, will skins be affected by the new mod coming up? Seems the new UI is a bit different.

Yeah the new module will be affected a little. Tried the skin on Lammania a while ago, and most of it is the same.

I will put in an update shortly following Module 9 (whenever we happen to get it).

I downloaded this skin and installed it and my map is not working. Is it just me or is this happening to anyone else? I also got the Red_black one and it was the same way. Can someone help me with this, please.

I have been useing it, I have found that if I reload the defalut UI before I log in and out the map will work. Kind of a pain but it looks Sooooooooo much better then the default UI. Thank you!

By popular demand, I've decided to create an update for the Fade2black skin that takes into account a lot of the new UI features that have been implemented since DDO Eberron Unlimited came to be.

Over the next 4-5 weeks keep an eye out for the first official release of Fade2black v1.0, which will also take into account some of the pre-existing graphical glitches that came packed with v0.1

If you haven't checked it out yet, I have posted a Universal Menu Bard Icon Update, if you wish to use it to update your UI, feel free. I am also working on other Icons for the UI, Like the Map Icon (Going from a magnifying glass to the compass) and the new Mail Icon (Going from the horse and shield to the circle with the envelope). Once I have those and any others I find I will be posting them for download for use.

The new UI should be out at some point this week, the work is going very well; I'm just currently having problems finding the icon for the Myddo.com main menu in any of the current packs, so once I've edited that and done a few more updates, it's good to go.

Due to there not having been a recent update to the DDO UI Skin Art pack the revamped version of the skin is currently on hold.

If anybody has any information on a new UI Skin Art pack I would be very much interested. I'm continuing to develop the skin, but currently I'm not hot on the fact that I can't find the icon for the MyDDO menu bar, or the longer menu bar itself.

Are you looking for the file name or the image?
