Default Rogue/Wizard Build in the making

This is a build i decided to try to make for a rogue wizard with 2 lvls in rogue and the rest wizard. I didn't work on it to 16 because i wanted to see if what i have so far is any good because finishing it. This build I'm looking to this rogue be able to disable traps and pick locks at end game, but I'm not really going for elite disable and lock pick since from what i heard that hard even for a pure rogue. As for the wizard i mainly want to him to buff and do damage. As for not being a 32pt build and no tomes is because I'm new to the game and just got my drow about half a week ago and wanted to work on a build for one.

To put it simply: You heard wrong.
A rogue cant afford to max out INT, while a wizards needs to do exactly that. So a Wizard with a rogue spash has better search and disable scores than a normal rogue.

Also being pure or being a splash has nothing to do with how good you are in dealing with traps. its all about skill rank and INT bonus, as well as how good your skillitem is. nothing of which is effected by the number of rogue level you have.

Also ther is no "elite lock picking". You can even afford to not max out the skill if you have a moderate DEX.

Building a good trapdealing character is not very difficult:
Get yourself a good INT score (at least 14 base), max out Search, Disable and Open Lock at every level and you wil be perfectly capable of dealing with all traps.

    -------------

You took SF:Search, drop it, its unnecessary. You dont need it if you have halfway level appropriate gear.

    Your stats need some tweaking:
    Strength 10
    Dexterity 10
    Constitution 14
    Intelligence 20
    Wisdom 8
    Charisma 10

You did not max out INT, which is a must-have on a Wizard, especially on a Arcane Trickster build which is also desperate for skillpoints.

Afther you have maxed out in that order Concentration, Search, Disable and Open Lock, you can invest the rest of your skillpoints into UMD. You will be able to max it out in the higher levels.

Also dont take your 2nd rogue level immediately as your 2nd character level. take it at 8th character level so you get more skillpoint sout of it, and can invest more skillpoints into UMD on a 1-on-1 basis.

A 18 Wizard / 2 Rogue with full trap skills is a viable build idea.

Personally i would lower con to 12 and either raise dex, strength or cha
14 Dex would give better reflex, 14 stregth would give you melee capability, or 14 cha would help umd.... better then a couple extra hp IMO.

Ok i decided to try to finish it to lvl 16. A few things. 1. i think my int is low and my skills are low, because ive seen other builds that have like 32 int or something and much higher skills. So can someone point out how i messed that up and if you see something i didn't or just didn't know about please tell me.

    Edited:Forgot to add some enhancements.

because ive seen other builds that have like 32 int or something and much higher skills.
The character planer ouitput is without attribute boosters and skill items and without standart buffs like greater heroism, which people have on them 99.99% of the time in-game. (the 0.01 time is when fighting a beholder)

    For example INT:
20 base + 4 level up + 6 item + 3 enhancement +1 tome = your Drow wizard will reach a standing INT of 34 without any hard to get items. If you got lucky ion a raid and get a +3 tome you can even rech a standing INT of 36.

Build looks good now. You will be doing fine with traps.

You took Nimble Fingers, switch that out for one Thoughness feat, and take the corresponding enhancements, to help with the inherent squishyness of the Wizard class.
You have a sky-high INT which no rogue can hope to equal. Feats are unnecessary to be able to deal with traps and can be better invested elsewhere for a better benefit to your character.

    What does that mean?

Thank you for the advice on making this build and i thought the feat was much but didn't know what else to get.
Well now just to fix those last few things and make the guy.

"Borat-esque" as in the style of

Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan

Sometimes my sentences can get a bit unsmooth and i get the feeling that they sound very "un-native" to a native speaker when i proof-read them.

But i am digressing, Enjoy your very versatile Wizard!

He could also eventually get +2 exceptional intelligence from a greensteel scepter for a total of 38!

Personally, I'd go with warforged over drow even knowing I only had 28 points. Being able to heal yourself on a build like this is lovely.

Ok, well, Not to tout the popular cookie cutter build here, but you missed one very important part here that makes this build increadablely strong and a whole lot of fun to play... (Play what you like however) Race: Warforged! Wizards and sorcs cast repair, which allows you to be selfhealing. My Lvl 7/2 Wiz/Rogue, can solo most content, yet still is strong help to the group. With High Int scores, insightful reflexes, and evasion he is nearly immune to all reflex based attacks. WF natural Immunities are great too.

At Lvl 9, he has never failed a trap, and only failed searches on content 4 lvls over his head. Open locks skills are nice, but as a wizard you'll also get knock, which means one less thing to try and put points into.

Skill point spread, you have some good examples here, so I won't go into that again.

    Exclamation Umd

Don't forget to max out your UMD skill when you reach 14th+ level. As a fleshy, you will need to be able to utilize heal scrolls for self healing AND for group healing. Nothing is better than saving the day by being able to Raise & Heal Clerics who get dropped. ( And thus save the Quest/Raid ) Self healing is great, but if you cannot heal others as well, it is nearly useless in a group game.
