A basic solid build is dwarf, at least 16 str, 16 con, I'd suggest a few points in dex/wis but I'm sure some would disagree, so up to you, put level up points into Str, max out intimidate, get power attack, improved crit: slash (use greataxes), all two-handed feats, and cleave, then you'll be all set for when mod.9 comes out

Paladins need stats in everything. Fighters only need STR and CON, just like Barbarians.

And both need DEX if you want to TWF. Although fighters have the option of going the AC-Route and then will need some INT for Combat Expertise.

    on tanking:
To tank you only need a high STR, good to-hit and high HP. The Intimidate skill helps massively in many situations, but is not a must-have-or-forget-about-tanking thing.

Barbarians, Fighters, Paladins can reach that very easily. Rangers, Bards and Rogues need some planing for that, but can archieve that, too.

    -------------

good races are Warforged, Human and Dwarf for fully offensive DPS characters, may it be a Barbarian or Fighter.

Stats: max STR and rest into CON. Grab the biggest 2-handed weapon and deal some hurt.

Feats absolutly needed are THF, ITHF, GTHF, Power Attack. the rest is up to personal flavor.
Erzskalde (Warchanter) / Erzassassin (just passing through - ignore me) / Erzsoldat (waiting for TR-time) / Erzschmied (ranged Artificer)

Improved Crit is pretty much a must. And cleave if you plan to be using the FB PrE in mod.9, which sounds like the best option for a two-handed barb.

Cleave isn't that good of a feat. Worry about it in "mod9" when it comes, if it comes. Respecs are easy, or you can just get it at level18.

You're right, taking it at L18 sounds like the best option.

I've been working on a Barb as my first character and this thread is incredibly helpful thank you everyone.

I have a few questions that need clarity though mainly what some short forms mean

    THF, ITHF, GTHF
Could someone tell me what these short forms stand for? Thanks!
