Symbol of Death

My cleric is now level 15 and can cast lvl 8 spells. I am having a difficult time thinking of a place and a situation where Symbol of Death can even be useful. Most critters on level 4 quest are already going to have over 150 hp.

Here is my question: If you are using SOD under what circumstance do you even use it?

it doesn't work on the bats anymore in vod (they get an immune message).

The only place I ever use it is the bat rare spawn in the vale. But even then, I just drop a BB and stand in the middle instead since my BB does more damage and those don't have evasion (like the ones in VoD)

hmm, you know, I never tested it against the gnolls in part 4 of the shroud. If it works, that could make scrolls useful. Just set up a scroll at each entry point and forget about it.

Gnolls in part 4 of the shroud have 550-600 hps each. I can kill them with one disintegration, but just barely.

Bats in VoD is just about the only semi-use for this spell, and even then it's not of great use.
