    Default Barb multiclass thoughts

I'd like to do a TWF barb, and I'm not impressed with the capstone. I'm totally new to looking at the class because I've always been thinking from the perspective of monk/paladin where barbarian was off-limits. I'd like to do jump/tumble to be able to flip around, so maybe some extra intelligence and a splash of something where that's a class skill. Some people have suggested 6ranger for tempest, but frankly I have no clue what kind of consequences that has for the barbarian's abilities, or mod9 options.

    Just looking for general musings.
You don't have to give me a complete build, just ideas on what to splash, to what degree, and why.

    Thanks.

EDIT - reading more. I like Frenzied Berserker III...
Maybe just two levels of fighter or rogue then.

    Standard lineup would be... ?

    Toughness
    WF:Slash
    IC: Slash
    TWF
    ITWF
    GTWF

just keep in mind that by mutliclassing you lose this:
    Mighty Rage

    * Prerequisites: Level 20 Barbarian
    * Benefit: Upon reaching level 20, a barbarian's rage grows stronger. When raging, your base bonus to Strength and Constitution are increased to +8 and your morale bonus to Will saves is increased to +4.
Adumbrate, Sienn, Selket, Synaxis, Ognwe-, Halpin, Sivva, Bigstick, Jemus, Colichemarde

Barbarians are best pure if you go THF.

If you go TWF, you can contemplate about splashing 2 Rogue. There the gains and the stuff that you miss are in the balance, and so its down to personal preference.

Splashing Tempest cuts too deep into your Rage-Power. Not everything gets better when you splash 6 Ranger into it.

    IC: Slash
    TWF

    GTWF
    No.
WF:Slash --> Power Attack. Never, EVER, build a Barbarian without it!

Also you can switch out Thoughness for another feats, often Stunning Blow. As a raged barbarian already has a ton of HP, so they arent really necessary, as the difference they amke is not really much. Also Barbarians are short on AP, so usually lack the AP to spend on Thougness enhancements.

    --------

Standard lineup for a TWF Barbarian:

    EWP: Kopesh
    Power Attack
    IC: Slash
    TWF
    ITWF
    GTWF
Erzskalde (Warchanter) / Erzassassin (just passing through - ignore me) / Erzsoldat (waiting for TR-time) / Erzschmied (ranged Artificer)

Wow I thought WF: was a prerequisite for IC:.
    That's good to know.

You said low on AP, and looking over their extensive list I see why.
What is the standard line-up of wise AP choices?

    **Frenzied Berserker III
    Barbarian Damage Boost IV**
    Barbarian Power Attack III**
    Barbarian Power Rage III**

    Extend Rage IV?
    Barbarian Constitution III?
    Hardy Rage III?

Default Is cleave a pre-req for Frenzied?

I thought you also had to have cleave for frenzied barbarian.

So you don't even have any more room.

    How about doing Human Barb18/Rogue2:

    1 - PA
    Human - Cleave
    3 - Stunning Blow
    6 - TWF
    9 - IC: pierce
    12 - ITWF
    15 - GTWF
    18 - Toughness

Then you get Human: Improved Healing and Human Skill Boost for your UMD and Intimidate.

(A little rough waiting from level 11-15 for GTWF, if you take IC and Stunning Blow. But I don't see anyway around that unless you splash fighter, regardless of other considerations.)

    True.

Was giving advice for the current mod. Once Mod 9 hits, level cap goes up. 18th level feat up for being Cleave. Decide if you want to keep Crit-Rage or go Frenzied.

    Default wish list

I'm still holding out hope that they'll throw is a bone in mod10 and introduce STWF feat.
    Smoking Gun of Thelanis

    Default multi-classing barb

The first level of Frenzied Berserker(Barbarain lvl6) might actually be an alright level dip. Spend 10hp to get vicious on your attacks. Myabe be crazy and go 6/6/8 rog/rgr/barb. Rogue for skills and SA damage, and whatever PRE you want. Ranger for tempest and its free feats. Barbarian 8 for 1st Frenzied PRE level, and lvl 8 I believe gives you access to second level of power rage enhancement line. Bodyfeeder weapons might be in store for mitigating the self-damage from the vicious effect, but might be fun to try.
