    Default Sorceror Robe?

Just thought I'd ask, since my sorc has a little cash saved up -

Can anyone recommend good set of bonuses to look for on a robe at the AH for a level 12-14 sorc who hasn't gotten around to collecting dragon scales or whatever yet? I've got Deathblock of Invulnerability now, but there might be something better out there, if I knew what to look for.

I believe it is the elf relics.

Still get it in the gianthold but will cost you relics instead of scales..

Its not the blue dragon scales, but the elf crafted robe is very good for a caster.

What is good about it is the Arcane Lore (+6% chance to crit, .25 spell crtitical damage multipier).

    For lootgen:
    Deathblock of Heavy Fort.
Tho you could also use the minos legens which isn't very expensive either (just buy some tapestries)
In which case the of suffix isn't very relevant as they're arent any thats really that good or rare.

Invulnerbility doesnt do anything at high level as 95% of mobs attacks are considered magic.

The good unique ones are all much harder to aquire..
Dragonscales ones are good ofcourse... But require some very intense grinding of the tor.
Emerald Claw and Silverflame are decent.. But require you to beat abbot.
Dragontouched can generally be the best of them all, but can require some intense grinding of runes to upgrade it.
If true neutral - the Antithesus can be useful for the greater stability.. But it's rare enough that you probably won't find it, and if you do it will be overpriced for what it does. It is an unbond item tho, so may be on the auction house.

Really what robe you use before you get a nice unique one won't have much effect. I'd just grind out the mod8 quests for the dragontouched - thats your best bet right now.. Takes a little less time then Tor on average to build a decent robe.

Really only time I rememer lootgen being worth a **** was years ago when lvl cap was 10, and the best resist you could cast was 20 points.. So a lvl10 greate resist robe was actually the best - I had a full set heh.

    Ok, thanks for the advice

I play with a static group, and we don't "grind" anything, so except for buying the stuff to turn in on the AH, the better robes are not likely to happen. Luckily, I don't need the best, since we don't do anything on elite unless it's several levels below us. Just wanted to see if there was anything out there to upgrade a ML10 from, other than the collectible turn-in type stuff. Currently leaning toward Fearsome of Improved False Life or some such, since the Silver Flame necklace already gives me Deathblock.

This one's not too bad. Saves you from having to equip a spell pen weapon if you don't have it on another slot. (vod bracers)

It drops in litany on the vol or mentau side. I've also seen it on the AH reasonably priced from time to time.

I would also recommend Elfcrafted Robes in lieu of Blue Dragonscale. They're a downgraded version but still offer decent benefits, and the relics to cash in for them are dirt cheap on the AH. And whenever you're bored and see a Tor group up, get in there! (Or make your own) Even if it takes a while, the payoff is worth it.

Just be warned that Fearsome isn't appropriate for some situations and can be met with some ire in some groups. Fearsome's alright if you're into soloing stuff but a lot of players don't enjoy having to chase after things (especially in quests where you have to kill X amount of things to make the next wave/monster spawn).

Fearsome is really good if you want to ****off people who think Killcounts mean 1337. In every sense the effect is going to help you immensely and other then Diplomacy you could always tell your party members "It wasn't me..."

As you're getting close to lvl16 you might want to investigate the Dragon Touched Robe/Armor. There are some good efffects although the enhancement of the armor is virtually unpredictable.

For starters, check out the Elf Crafted Robes as suggested. I think they have unique appearances which could be nice if you're not into looking like everyone else.

This is all good advice for end game, but he was looking robes in the ~10-14 range. Definitely agree that best idea might be to go for the DT armor, easier to acquire than 25 blue scales.

For lower levels I still think the elf crafted robes stand out as the best for a caster.

Well grind is kind of a inaccurate for the DT armor anyways. Actually getting it isn't much of a grind at all. Just upgrading it later can be - but you may get lucky on your first try, its completely random.

With some luck, you can actually aquire one in probably just 2 nights of casual playing with a good group and some luck.
You actually only need to do 6 adventurer areas, and 4 quests to get it. All once only pretty much. The adventurer areas can take as little as 5 minuits each with some luck. The first 3 quests take only 15-30 minuits. The last quest takes around an hour (for an average group on their first run).

I dunno what level you are tho, and the requirement on it is level16.

OK, cool, that might work out then As long as it doesn't require completing the same quest more than, say, 3 times, or doing any end-game raids (kinda tough with a static group of 5), it's a possibility...eventually
