Default Plain vanilla Human Cleric build.

I may take another shot at cleric. Please evaluate this build and tell me what needs tweaking. The tomes included are there because that's what I have on hand.

    Looks fine to me

Personally I would take extend earlier at level 1 or 6 and move the mental toughnesses back accordingly. I would also drop one mental toughness and take a spell penetration so your CC type spells land more often at endgame.

On enhancements, I'm not a a fan of the crit healing enhancements, you tend top need to heal what is needed anyway so they usually result in over healing in my limited experience with them.

    I concure.
Crit healing is not as good as it loks on paper, much of its bang is lost into the overhealing void.

I'd drop Strength to 10, and Dexterity to 10, and put the rest Charisma. But, that's just a personal preference.

why even boost cha at all. spending 6 APs just to get 1 more DV is a huge waste of APs. if your DVs are tier 2-3, it might be worth it but for tier 1, not a good trade off

I like crit healing for raid healing. In those instances, I tend to spam CMM whenever several people hit below 50%. That isn't enough - on a non-crit - to bring high HP toons to 100%; but the crits will. However, by the same token, I only invest in % increase to crits - not the multiplier - for reasons described above.

Thanks for all the feedback! I'll have to go back to the planner and make some changes.

Make sure you're putting all your level-up ability points into Wisdom. Unless you're speccing for turning, there's no need to waste them on CHA.

    18 Base + 4 Lvl + 3 Enh + 1 Human + 6 item + 2 tome = That's a 34 WIS without even trying.

Then if you add in a +3 for shroud craft, a +3 tome, and a +1 for the Litany, that's a 39. +4 tomes coming next mod'll bump that up to a 40.

I also agree that Empower Healing should be taken later on. Your healing should be sufficient enough and you won't have the SP at lower levels to support a metamagic that you'll probably have on all the time. Extend is better for buffing.

I'd probably switch Quicken and Maximize around too, if you plan on casting Blade Barriers you're gonna want Quicken around the same level.

Why have strength OR dex at 10?

You won't be hitting anything anyway, as far as I can tell.

    You wont' be evading anything.

Save those 7 stat points and max con or pump up cha to a reasonable level for dv's.

    con - 16
    wis - 18
    cha - 14

    or con - 14
    wis 18
    cha - 14

and 4 points elsewhere, I guess if you really want str for some reason ...

drop empower healing for empower, toughness and mental toughness for SF: necro and you're starting to look like a real cleric.

Is it really worth the trade off to invest so much in Divine Vitality? My cleric has enough DVs to throw at the caster for a GT out of a dungeon. With things like Shroudcrafted SP items, Concordant Opposition, and the Archmagi bracers from VoD becoming more prevalent (heck, even Major Mnemonics aren't that hard to come by these days), casters and other clerics should have more than enough SP to get the job done; if they don't, they need a lesson in mana conservation and making sure they aren't overhealing.

Points invested in DVs could be spent in other places. Max out CON and WIS and use STR or INT for a dump stat.

Fair enough, my last three cleric's have had no dv's. I only assumed OP wanted them.

Definitely agree, wis/con then on a caster build like this (if no dv's), screw everything else.

*** edit *** my builds with cha normally have intimidate or UMD as well for an extra cha reason ...

Figured he wanted a generalist cleric. I tend to suggest 18 Wisdom, 16 Con, 14 Charisma. 18 Wisdom and a Con higher than 14 is all that's needed. Everything else is gravy from that point.
