I have another set of tome pages for trade. For the last set 2 weeks ago I recieved Attonment, Firestorm Greaves, Ring of the Djinn, Spectral Gloves, and a +2 INT Tome. lol thats no bs that was the trade, actually i was wrong it was a dex tome not int tome, but i traded the dex for int after, but that was the deal.

look, lol bottom line is if you dont feel like farming the pages and if you dont wanna spend a ton of plat to get them then i have a set. wizzly, good to see you bud, but you know as well as i do that agro's economy is out of whack, i challenge you to log on and see if you could buy pages 1-8 for less than 4 mill plat. thats an average of 500 k plat per page and you wont see it. vkaun, first of all post your toon names in some sort of a sig, anonymous posters are both anoying and laughable, especially when thier posts make zero sense. I wasnt comparing myself to walmart i was making a joke towards i buddy of mine who i know and play with in game.

yes i got a lot for the set of pages, i dont doubt that but there are a lot of people that arent flagged for lotd, or just dont wanna waste the time. ill be the first one to tell you the items arent the greatest in game, but a lot of people like skiver for thier casters and death nip for thier melee. the fact that im willing to hold onto these pages and trade them when mod 9 hits for something i can use also raises what im willing to take. so, if you cant buy them for any cheaper than 4 million plat (if you got the luckiest run on the ah, otherwise they will cost you a lot more), of if you dont feel like farming them, then i have a set to trade. they will cost you, my want list is there, i dont need to trade the pages, but if i do it will be expensive. if you dont like that, thats fine, go without the skiver or deathnip that you want, or if you are the one saying that they can be traded for less then by all means you get a set of all 8 and YOU trade it for less. otherwise the way i see it, is that since you dont have tthe goods to trade for it or youre not willing to beat my prices, then you really dont matter to me as far as what im asking.

eh, i havent been on argo for awhile so the prices very well could have changed, and indeed probably have. anyway, i think you got lucky of that deal that did go through. and you know im not bashing you like these other fools. youre not being underhanded nor trying to swindle anyone, just have one opinion of a value of something that differs from some others.

so i was bored and was flipping thru the ah and figured why not see what the value of tome pages on Argo actually is, these were my results for the 8 tome pages in questipon at 11:15 PM EST.


Page 1: 7 available ranging from 550 k plat to 1.2 million AVERAGE COST 750 K PLAT / BEST COST 550 K PLAT

Page @: 6 availablke ranging from 650 k plat to 800 k plat AVERAGE COST 750 K PLAT/ BEST COST 650 K PLAT

Page 3: zero available

Page 4: 4 available ranging from 300 k plat to 400 k plat AVERAGE COST 350 K PLAT/ BEST COST 300 K PLAT

Page 5: 5 available ranging from 550 k plat to 920 k plat AVERAGE COST 774 K PLAT/ BEST COST 550 K PLAT

Page 6: 4 available ranging from 300 k plat to 700 k plat AVERAGE COST 500 K PLAT/ BEST COST 300 K PLAT

Page 7: 1 available cost 900 k plat

Page 8: 5 available ranging from 250 k plat to 600 k plat AVERAGE COST 340 K PLAT / bEST COST 250 K PLAT


What I would take from this: best cost at the time that I checked was 3.5 million plat for 7 of the 8 tome pages. That would be an average of 500 k plat per page at the best possible prices if you had the plat to buy the 7 available. In the event that you did not have 3.5 million to lay down at 11:15 tonite then the average total of the 7 pages would be almost 4.4 million plat.

From that point you could wait until someone posted page 3 to see if you like that price. Ive had some heat about what my asking prices were and frankly i dont see the need to post in someones trade thread to be a hero of the people and say that someone is ripping someone else off. If you do not like the price that someone is accepting then basically you can surely offer the item at a better price or else you really dont have much of a say. If grinding out 8 tome pages was as easy as you make it to be then everyone would have the skiver or deathnips they wanted and the AH prices wouldnt be as ridiculous as they are. I know some people had used other methods to gain many tome pages when the lotd was new but i did not. I traded heavily for the set to get my skiver awhile back and now have finally put a couple set together myself.

I thought some of the comments here were funny, but did find some more than others. I wouldnt think a person who dual boxes multiple accounts in quests to farm everything he needs and then crafts items to trade for ingredients from completed signet stones would be the type to express thier feelings. If I had to bring 2 toons in every quest to do what i do with one i would sit quietly and not draw attention to myself. Btw before you insult the person i traded my first set to, for what you deem too much, maybe you should take a look aroud the players you play with and see if anyone is enjoying their new skiver.

greaves - 1mil - 1.3mil
gloves - 190K-200K
no ring
no attonement

so we are lookin at 2.14mil - 2.8mil for the 3 items while still missing 2...and attonements have skyrocketed recently with the renewed interest in abbot...I have no idea of how much a ring of the djinn costs together could they make 1.4mil?...who knows...

Of course, all of this is based upon AH prices which everyone knows doesn't mean jack **** in terms of actual value of an item...

I agree with your assesment, I was gonna do the same thing. Dont forget i said that in the deal I got I actually got a +2 dex tome that I traded for the +2 int but right now thats not too big of a difference. I've bought 3 sets of greaves off the ah for 700-850 k plat but id say average is closer to 1 mill, Ive also bought a couple rings for 450 and 550 k plat and seen others in that range that i didnt buy. The tome if dex, on the high end AH prices I would say aroung 700k-1 mill, the gloves id say u are a little low on, they were down between 150-200 but i think the plat farmers bought them all up now they are between 300-500k plat, the attonement i bought off the ah I spent 650 k plat for, but i have seen them for 2 mill on ah.

so using those prices on the ah that i have seen or purchased all of these items recently for, best prices: greaves 700k, ring 450 k, tome 700 k, gloves 300 k, attonement 650 k = 2.8 mill plat

with the high end prices greaves 1 mill, ring 550 k plat, tome 1 mill, gloves 500 k plat, attonement 2 mill plat = 5 mill, 50 k plat

5 mill plat is using ridiculous AH high end prices, the same ridiculous high end prices that gave me my figure of 4.4 mill plat for 7 of the 8 tome pages. if the 8th page wasz factored in it would be around 5 mill plat on both sides.

Using best prices scenario, the 7 pages would cost you 3.5 mill plat with the 3rd page an unknown price and the 5 items would cost you 2,8 mill plat

I am not disputing that it seems like wow 5 items for 1 skiveror deathnip seems like a lot. But when you break down the grind it takes to get all 8 pages or look at what people are posting the individual pages for its an absurdly high price. Is it worth it? IDK if i were on the other end, id say no, but im not, Im on the end with the tomes and though I may cut someone a deal, I wont trade them away for nothing. At that point i would be smarter to post them on the AH for prices lower than what is up there and then buy the items I want.

those prices are inflated because the auction house is the last place to find the completion of a set you've been working on. those prices then drift to the maximum value the market will bear.

also taking the average of a snapshot over 3 days (the market time slice) suits your needs but is not the market price of these items. if anything, plat/gold is a bad way to measure their inherent value, especially on the ah

Actuallt GR u are wrong, I was surprised to see some of those best prices were really low, looks like the prices are coming down. The reason it isnt ludicris is that every item on the AH can be traded for cheaper than what you would pay on the AH. the prices of tome pages have the same AH inflation as greaves, atonement , +2 tomes or anything else on my list. I would never buy a tome page for the high end prices, but I also would never buy a +2 tome for 1 mill ion or more plat either.

BTW congrats man I didnt get a chance yet to say it in the other thread but Im glad you felt brave enough to have made your announcement. So if you want keep your 2 cents that you put into my trade thread, go down to the blue oyster bar and buy some pretty young thing a beer.
