wrongfully accused platfarmers?

Has anyone here been Wrongfully accused of platfarming?

What did you do and were you able to get your account back?

The reason I ask is because someone I know has been accused of being a platfarmer and lost his accounts.

If he really Farmed Plat then I wouldn't care... but he also has two of my WoP rapiers.

It's just very annoying, he deserves to be banned more than half the time but the rest he just doesn't deserve what hapens to him. I feel this is incredibly unfair and it also pretty much angers and frustrates me.

Not sure where but I think there is a phone number here somewhere for customer service find it for your friend and have him call them as they wont discuss any disipline actions here. Good luck to you and your friend

unfortunately that number is for account management and NOT game support. game support is all dealt IN game. how are you suppose to fight against being wrongfully accused of plat farming if you are deemed a plat farmer?

cuz account managment is who bans the accounts

How do you get accused of platfarming? I don't think it's the farming of the plat that's the problem (unless loot runs are illegal now)? Is this the same someone who's been banned many times before?

are you sure he didn't get accused of maybe buying Plat from a plat farmer and not "Being" the Plat farmer. Maybe your not getting the full story from the one who is banned.

None of them were buying or selling plat.

I never said he was farmin.....I think I know said player and I know him to be a player not a farmer. As I said I don't know the story.....but the chances of them just banning on what they think he might be doesn't jibe well. Hope you can get your stuff back.

i have chinese players in my guild who are still playing and have never faced such situations describe. if you ever play in khyber, ask around for the farmers and many of us can point you direct to them. after playing for 2+ yr, most of us can instantly spot them from the way they group, the quests they run, the names they use and the way they build their toons

have we tried reporting them? i know i have but nothing is done even when i got a screenshot of them acknowledging them for who they are. given all these bits data and experiences, i think it safe to assume that turbine isnt very quick on banning farmers (plat tell spammers are a different issue)

given the banning recieved, i can only wonder what transpired. just listening to one side of the story and trying to incite more flame is childish and irresponsible

No amount of proof or reporting them will make a real difference. Turbine gets money from the farming accounts so there is no incentive for them to ban them.

Actually YOUR post is wrong on multiple levels. Mine however, is not. Since you clearly have absolutely no fracking clue, you would be wise to refrain from your childish and irresponsible behaviour.

If you have been playing as long as you claim, and that seems unlikely, then you will recall the few times Turbine has hit back against the farmers through IPs.

We are not claiming that EVERY Chinese player (or all foriegn players) use the same proxy (and thus have identical IPs). But those that have shared an IP with a farmer are treated as being farmers themselves - just as if you post on the forums from the IP of someone that was banned, your forum account will be banned too.

negative I know 4-5 people with multiple accounts where 1 is banned on the forums and the other is not. Same IP for both accounts.

Also the second your forum account is banned you can put in trial access and post in the trial area with a different name.

This is correct. Grey unless your the player in question, how do you know for absolute certainty that the player was banned inappropriately? Answer, you don't. I'm rarely on the Turbine bandwagon, but with sub levels the way they are, I highly doubt random bannings are being executed.

obviously you are being ignorant as well

ask the forum "oldies" or the chinese players. their accounts are not banned at all, instead, turbine just blocked off entire IPs from which many of the plat farmers can be traced. banning IP and banning account are 2 entirely different things

oh wait, maybe you just dunno the difference of an account from an IP

What does this mean?

this means that it is common knowledge the he is an ******* to 50% of the players on sarlona, it's no surprise. You only don't know that information if you are new to sarlona or don't play on sarlona.

Hence, his attitude half of the time produces appropriate responses (banning). The other half, well those are just people who are being nit picky and hate the guy and do everything possible to get him banned.

Normal things you and I would not be banned for will get HIM banned. It is a bit outrageous but somewhat understandable.

This most recent incident is absolutely over stepping the bounds.

And to clarify... first he was BANNED for 30 days. Then he had his accounts DEACTIVATED for plat farming. Now, turbine won't respond to his inquiries as to why he got banned. They have been giving him the run around and are pretty much treating him like a piece of **** customer. I mean seriously, he pays out the yin yang for accounts, turbine sould give him a little bit more respect as a customer.






This problem with him is seriously making me reconsider my future with turbine. As much as I love the game, I feel that turbine treats their customers like ****. And yes, I am referring to more than one player this time.
