Default My first build: TWF WF Arcane Ranger

Here's my first build ever, just thought I would put it out to see what people think. The idea is to make a sorta battle mage, mostly caster who is TWF. Got the idea from SigTrent Elven Arcane Ranger. Not looking to make an Arcane Archer out of him.

i was thinking of doing something like this but an elf 15 wiz/ 1 fighter arcane archer.

I think you may be investing too much into your ability to melee, it may get u killed often but otherwise looks ok.

Mitheral body + oversized 2 weapon u could do without I say.......but thats up to you.

One idea that might have some synergy with this type of build is an 11 wiz / 9 ranger.

    11 wiz
-haste / displace / firewall and most importantly...reconstruct!
-3 meta magics for free (max, quicken, ?)

    9 ranger
-much better twf skills (most feats covered for free)
    -2 favored enemies
-tempest can likely be fit in given all the free feats
    -evasion!

With this set up, most key feats are free and the level feats can focus on rounding out the twf and wizarding.

haste + tempest + uninterrupted big time healing = very nice

Sounds good, any suggestions on when to take what levels in each?

That is a good question. This is a build that gets a key ability at the end of each class line. Hmm. I would probably go mostly ranger to begin with. I would take a single early wiz level so I could use shield + wands + have a little healing.

The thing to keep in mind imo is that you are mostly a buffing + a little nuking wiz, but you will not be doing much if anything that needs a DC or needs to get through spell resistance. Thus, I wouldn't have much put into intel. You do need enough dex to qualify for GTWF, but I would still try and be a strength based character. Personally, I wouldn't worry about AC (eventualy you will mostly be displaced/stoneskin + combat healing).

Once you get through low level life as a ranger, the remainder would be wiz.

Here is a quick take on what you could do with levels/feats. There is probably a lot of tweaking that could improve it, but here goes...(The dex tome was used to qualify for GTWF...you need a 17 dex for this)

17-20 is of course all wiz, and I would add quicken / toughness for 17-20 feats (+1 str at 20 as well)
