    Default Duo party Sorcerer

    My cousin and I are puting together a team for playing duo. After months and months of discussion, we have finally settled upon a Drow Sorcerer & a Dwarven Battle Cleric. (We understand the benefits of WF duos but honestly, we are thinking they may not compliment our play style.)

    I have been tasked with rolling up either a Sorc19/.....1 (for healing wand capabilities)...or...Sorc18/fight1/ranger1 (for heavy repeaters and healing wand capabilities). Below is my first stab at a Sorc of the later ilk. I already know of few changes I might make and I didn't take a ton of time deciding on spells (yes fanatics...I realize that spell selection is tremendously important when playing sorcerers.) I just wanted to see if it was even worth the trouble of attempting to create a Heavy Repeater wielding Sorcerer that could compliment of Battle Cleric strictly from a feat/spell side of things; without him/her being to gimped later on. Didn't even explore enhancements or skill points. It's just a skeleton build right now.

    Also...I will be playing with Mobile Spell Casting and have read all the discussions about it. I know, from previous playing, that it's what I want. So we can skip that analysis too.

    Also, we both have only unlocked 28 pt. builds.

    Thoughts?

    I would change that one section and you may get some serious answers. Leave it in and you will inevitably be derailed...

    I'll bite. You can do anything you want the sorc you have posted looks a little weak IMO.

    1st why do you want to go sorc instead of wizard on a character like this?

    2nd If your are Sorc Maximize should seldom be a neglected feat you should take it and use it. Also your extend feat comes way too late IMO. You really want mobile casting fine but at level 9 take Maximize or Extend at level 12 take Maximize or Extend or Empower and at level 15 take whatever one you did not take.


    What is the plan for your play style run arround constantly kiting mobs?

    I also would be very curious to know why Sorcerer & not Wizard. Going Wizard will make you more veristile in the area of spells, that way you can choose which spells to take into each quest. Going Wizard will not effect your spell points that much due to the fact that you are not going to be a pure bread. I also think that taking Combat Casting is much less important than some of the other Metamagic Feats that are available. If you want it, great, I am just questioning the order in which you are taking these feats. Maybe some insight on your thought process in making these decisions might help us give you more helpful suggestions.

    I would suggest a 14 wiz / 2 rogue - if it is just the two of you most time... the rogue lv's will come in handy and the extra flexablity of changing spells around will be a large plus as well....

    If you really want to do sorcerer rather than wizard, I'd consider 18 sorc/2 pali. Although it wouldn't give you the extra fighter feat to take your repeater, you'd still gain use of healing wands and all martial weapons as well as grant you very powerful saving throws.
