"Actually, if you are doing this alone it is best to destroy the bottoms and mostly prepare the tops. The pillar always falls in the direction of the last melee hit on the pillar's bottom.

Before module 8 the best plan of attack was to stay in the rafters to line the titan up wherever you wanted him on the ground, break a pillar from the top, and quickly drop down to the laser to fire. Now in module 8 the titan doesn't move if no one is on the ground floor. You now have the luxury to stand by the laser console once he is in position and break the tops with a thrown weapon at leisure."

I found this quote from MrCow on the achievement forums. I have been in several Titan recently that have failed due to odd Titan movements and wondered if anyone had done/tried this to increase chances of success?

Our guild did a couple Titans Friday night for the first time in a while. We did find it a lot harder to manage his agro, and we wound up having to run around on the floor. Also, we couldn't seem to get him to line up in the outer rows and had to zap him in the middle row, between the pillars.

I've known about it, but don't bother trying to explain it to others. I'm plenty happy to stand up top and twiddle thumbs.

You're not likely to get a pug that will let you work this tactic, we as a server don't like changing things once they're set (heck, we've just now finally started to stop telling everyone to stand on the laser).

I know what you are saying. As a server the ability to execute rationale, high quality gameplay seems to becoming less common and stays within certain groups who have grown tired of explaining the same things to the same people over and over.

If any group on Khyber completes this way please let me know or post of your success.

LOL I was in a titan run 2 weeks ago where the guy kept yelling at the group to stand on the laser. He was pretty high strung, and obviously hadn't ran the titan in a year or so. We completed, so it's hard to gripe too much, but it was pretty amusing.

In reality, the easiest way to do the titan is prep the tops, and put the laser wherever he is at. get him shooting and drop a pillar on him (even if its not a pillar he's standing directly next to) and then shoot him. the people on top can do the chicken dance while all this is going on.

I swear that Aussie can speak titan, I was in a group last week where he walked up, stood still while she dropped 4 pillars/shots on him, then walked up to the next group and patiently waited for her to do the next 2...

I do the destroy bottoms/prep tops method if I am soloing or am in a guild group. Any other situation and it is destroy tops/prep bottoms (namely because I'm not leading the groups, it is the way folks are used to doing it, and there is enough room for error doing it this way).

Me and titan go a long way Plus I don't like to wait for him to move his arse takes too long, way better is to get on him

I know he gets agroed on people on bottom, that why I like to keep them up top so he doesn't chase everyone and just chase me hehe,so much easyer when no people on floor.

Hmm haven't done titan on Khyber yet but your method for reaver is wacked.

Everyone standing to the left of the entrance gate, directly below the dead room?

We lost 3 people just in one antigrav!!

When I mentioned that on Sarlona we stand in the gate so we don't go flying up to the roof, nobody could comprehend this tactic....

Also, dragon raid tactics seem a bit mod3 to me.... you do know that you can all run on the bridges once the gate is down, right? Or you can all run at the start instead of taking 10mins just to cross to the gate. Wait a minute, you don't cross to the gate? Ooook then lol

In reaver you do not stand directly below the dead room, while I agree that you don't need to go all the way up to the ceiling it doesn't really matter it can be done both ways.
Dragon-diferent people do it diferent. So really can't judge from one raid

    Default Dragon

Personally I think the easiest way is for 1 person with FoM to go prep Earth ellie pillar whilst a ranger preps Mephit and Flenser pillars. 2 pillars can be multi-shotted down with Construct bane bow.

Even better is 2 rangers taking down all pillars with no running around the bridges. Takes 2-3 mins, and party can wait at zone in area until done. Minimal margin for error and extremely easy.

The method you will see will totally depend on party/guild make-up.

With regard to the reaver, groups used to stay underneath the lip on Khyber or 12 o'clock (opposite entrance) until the 7 o'clock method was started as it was easy. The reason people wipe is because they get carried away and either chase reaver or elementals into the middle and get caught out by anti-grav. There is one spot for the tank that can throw you into the spikes if you catch the ceiling wrong but it doesn't happen that often.

I think people do reaver the way they do because they like to tank at the 9 o'clock/10 o'clock pillar. Used to be people did reaver at 12 o'clock. Falling up and down to ceiling is not a big deal for most as they're normally both charged and the smart ones ride the pillars up and down taking little to no damage at all. It may be that people feel they like being closer to that puzzle room barrier rather then flying or running from further away. Reaver is still soloable with certain builds so really does not matter so much.

I've not run dragon much at all lately... Basically I only open it for favor when asked. Not many remember but I was on the mound the day Vellah died on Riedra for the first time... oh gawd I been here too long. I've seen so many different ways to approach the plane is crazy...tactic's at dragon really is dependent on group make up... and typically is quickest way in and out anyway... Rangers can range the pillars - fact is way back when melee used to throw range them. I like bard or agro control methods for the shear speed of it... take a bard with two other melee in trail and circle while fascinating the pillar areas each melee take a pillar and the bard handles the last one... the gate will be open in under a minute. The other way is to have one person run thru 1st and 2nd then up to 3rd then pull back between 2nd and 3rd ... and three melee run to the proper places. Also party makeup determines how you're going to fight vellah in the end also I prefer the typical rush... but if i've too many pugs along I may hold back certain key people.

Titan changed a bit ... his agro is different and to be honest I rarely run it anymore. I used to know the forge and titan rather well but I gave up a chat ring two years ago on a reroll and maybe ran it a dozen times since... just because of laziness, other raids more fun or maybe was tired out by grinding for that previous ring.
