Default New to DDo new to Thelanis

Hey everyone just a quick little way to say high and intro. New DDo player here I come from WoW, a friend suggested the game and so here I am, lol.

I'm new but I learn fast, so I just wanted to chuck out a big hello to the server, and let others know if ya see me gaming, keep in mind I'm still getting the hang of the game.

Right now running with two toons

    Drainarac the Banisher lvl6 cleric
    Triaal Stormbow level 2 ranger

Looking to really hit level 20 on this cleric once I get into the highend content, so if ya see me around always open for an invite.

Hi Grayth. Question for ya. How long does it take a good player to cap a toon in WOW?

To cap a toon in WoW, well wow is very vast and so many quests it's hard to do them all. For someone who knows the game and uses a leveling addon (built in game questing aid) you can potentially level a toon to 80 in about 10 days..now that's 10 full gaming days not realtime days, so 24 hours of gaming would = 1 day. For some you can bang this out in a month others longer.

If you don't use a leveling questing aid, it can take months to level since my capped toon over there has done over 1200 quests, and that's not counting raids etc, and I've still not done all the content.

But looking forward to playing DDO, getting into the high end stuff and having fun, it's definetly a different game, but as an Old DnD player from back when original Ad&D was around it's a fun refresher to old ways..lol

To comment on Parvo's question, I work in business intelligence, so I keep track of (wierd) stuff. My toon took about 450 quests to cap, and about 400 to get to 1750 favour. This was one of my earliest characters, so I probably took far longer that I would with today's toons....

Welcome. I think DDO has the most enjoyable interface and combat system I have personally experienced. There is, however, a little bit of a learning curve. Most of us have been playing for a long time and have gone over that curve countless times so I have 2 pieces of acvice:

    1. there is a mentoring program that is helpful for tips, advice on builds or quests, getting a group started etc ... Check it out.
    2. many experienced players leveling a new character have done the quests many times and do things as fast as possible reaching only the minimum requirements to complete the quest. While it is more fun for us, it is not necessarily the best way to learn quests, the game or the most enjoyable for a new person. It is kinda of like driving a Gremlin on the autobahn. So, don't be shy to mention you are new to the game/quest. You will save both sides aggravation.

Most experienced players are happy to slow down and point things out, but also they may have objectives they want to reach on that day and at that time do not wish to mentor.

If there is anything I can do to help, look me up on my alts below:

Bolded are the ones I am most likely to be on.
