    Default Vorpal Questions

Not gonna ask about how it works w.r.t. a natural 20 or a crit as that seems to be changing again, unless it just did already.

But how does it work for the following:

    - Off hand for dual wielding
    - 2nd or more attacks with main hand in a round
    - 2nd or more with the off hand
    - A cleaved attack, or a great cleaved attack, if the previous attacks were not vorpal deaths
    - Same, but the previous attack(s) were vorpal deaths
    - Glancing damage (ya never know! )

    For the situations you stated:

    • Vorpal works the same on and off-hand as it does on the main hand. Natural 20 that confirms the crit.
    • Multiple strikes with a single hand will produce vorpal (or other effects) as a normal single strike.
    • For Cleave/Great Cleave/Whirlwind each monster gets a separate attack roll. If any of those natural 20 rolls confirms a crit, then that monster will be vorpal'd. The order of the monsters being applied effects does not matter.
    • Glancing blows can not produce a critical hit and thus can not vorpal.

However, this is scheduled to change in Mod 9. The THF line, Frenzied Berzerker line, the Kensai line and a Warforged THF line are all supposed to increase the chance that special weapon effects like Vorpal will be added to glancing blows.
