Does the Pit Fiend boss still speak?

I remember when Arretriekos (sp?) would speak out loud . He has not spoken aloud since I returned after a 6 month absence.

I am wondering if something is not working right with my system ?

Are there speaking parts in the "new player experience" too? I did not hear any.

Your Dungeon Master Volume is at 0, or you disabled the DM...

He still speaks.
