As I recall, the first ever acid trip started on 4/19 at 4:20 in the afternoon, and didn't end until ~12 hours later.

well at least the first one they TOLD people they were having....the first couple "test" trips were done at church type youth gatherings the Grateful Dead were invited to play and some of the Merry Pranksters decided it would be a good idea to spike the OJ.

You know this post is bugging me so I am going to quote it again. What exactly depresses you about this in regards to humanity? Maybe you are not aware but mind and mood altering substances have been used by humanity since the hunter gatherer age. In fact, it has been speculated that the move to agriculture was spurred by the need to cultivate plants to make these substances with, not the need to cultivate food, that came as an afterthought. If you think that the existence of altering substances is a sign of the downfall of society than I am going to have to strongly disagree with you.

By the way, do you drink alcohol? If so, I am going to call you a hypocrite too, if not then I guess that label doesn't apply. Thousands of deaths were caused by the use of alcohol last year. How many were caused by the use of the plant I am alluding too?

Yes what you do in the privacy of your own home is your business, however it is currently illegal which makes those who partake criminals and to celebrate that fact is sad. well then sir i am a mother****ing criminal, but thats beside the point. the OP made a thread without violating any rules here in forumland. lenricho came in acting like a big dork and got all judgemental and lamented the fall of modern society due to the people celebrating anything related to illegal plants. sounds like a kneejerk right wing reaction to me. slacker? maybe in hollywood but most people (who partake) have a regular type life, just with less stress and more fun.

I wouldn't call it a knee jerk reaction, I would call it an opinion based on an observation. As for the slacker remark, that may have been hasty on my part however any action can be justified by the actor.
