All Good Things...

Well, folks... time to say goodbye.


As of this writing I have four active days left on my DDO subscription, and then I will be exiting stage-left (never did like stage-right... too preachy). But, before I go I just wanted to say a few things.


It has been my absolute pleasure and privilege to have spent time with you guys. To all my friends, guildmates, fellow forum-users, PUG members, and server dwellers - I'm gonna miss each and every one of you. Even those who I may have irritated or been irritated by - I'll miss you. See, we all make up one of the coolest and nicest communities I've ever been a part of. There have been some rough spots in the road, sure, but the people who play this game have never failed to amaze me at how top-notch they are. It is each and every one of you who have kept me coming back to this game when I'd have otherwise walked away.

Sadly, the time has come when I need to walk away...

I won't dwell on why I feel the need to unsubscribe, for any who really feel the need to know why, the answers are not hard to find. Me, I'd rather focus on the good things - laugh instead of lament. When the time comes that it's hard keep a smile - then it's time to pack it in.

I'm not giving away my gear - and I'm not deleting my characters. I'll be completely honest, I hope to come back one day. I'll be paying attention to what is going on in DDO, and if things improve then I will be back. But, it that may not be for a while.

I've had a really great time trying to make y'all laugh, or trying to prove a point. Even the arguments were fun. This has been like a family to me, the population of Thelanis... and moving out is hard to do. Took me a long time to reach this decision, but I gotta head out on my own.



I hope each of you stays well and stays happy. It's been a pleasure.

Well Mem, as someone who's teamed with you since the good old days on Xoriat and been in 2 guilds with you now, I may know you better than some, but my perception is very similar.

You are a **** fine person and player and a credit to ddo and this little world we all live on.

My game playing time has dropped to a very small percentage of what it once was, I may not be far behind ya.

I'm down from about 25 hours a week, to about 5.

The only reason I played a bit more over this past week is because my RL bro and his wife decided to see if DDO was something that might hold their interest.

So far the verdict is meh. My bro got bored within a week and his wife is playing here and there.

DDO is a great game and had so much potential, but the HORRORAWFUL lag, the lack of a big world to explore and delays on content and nerfs and changes have made it wane in the eyes of many.

In the end, summer is here and that means less game playing for me anyways, so heres hoping Mod 9 will keep us interested for a while (prolly not) and will be enough to get us through the fewer hours we will play till the fall and maybe by then the game will have some more improvements(?) or there will be another game out there that will grab us.

Keep your access alive at the Legion web site and keep in touch.

Hopefully I will find a reason to keep playing and you will find one to come back into the game and our paths will once again cross on the field of battle... and always, as comrades.
