If you're like me and switch weapons around a lot, putting your +6 Cha on the scepter may be a poor idea. For my wizard, I made a Fire/Fire/Fire scepter that has 10(15?)% fire absorb, +3 Int, and a chance for a Magma Strike or some such on a hit (happens occasionally when I'm smacking Held monsters).

Personally, I like the fire absorb since so much of the endgame content is hurling fire around.
