It's reasonable to assume that people will have interpersonal disagreements and personality conflicts in this game, as they have everywhere else in this world. I am not unreasonable in my expectations of other people's behavior. If someone feels compelled to make their token finger-in-the-eye remarks toward someone they personally find objectionable or with whom they have a grudge, I'm willing to be tolerant, initially.
When that token hostility is met calmly, without in-kind insults or any other kind of encouragement, it's time to make allowances of your own and move on. If you instead proceed to question their honesty, integrity, and the masculinity and sexual preferences of her husband in a public manner, I am personally under no compulsion to listen further.
I'm an easygoing guy. I follow my own experiences in dealing with other people and make my own judgments late about their behavior, if at all. What I do not have to do is watch the insecurities of other men psychologically expressed by their bullying of women. Lack of self-awareness and small wit is the only excuse for it.
