    Default Abbot

Last night I was one of the healers in a Abbot raid that was headed up by Alex from Purelife and had many other great players in the quest Larry, Blah, Phalcon, Jenie and many others. (if i did not say your name im sorry forgot to right it down) I just wanted to say TY guys for a great run. I hear people saying they will just wait until they fix it or when it wont cost them fortune. Wahoo for saying to hell with that and sending that #$%@# talking litch back to hell.

Yeah, elite was awesome, I think I still got one toon off timer, but I'll have to check.
I've got my affairs in order for the coming zombie apocalypse, do you?

    Grats on the completion(s).

When did they change elite back to be like normal?

When we went in to take on elite, we were all prepared for -10 to all stats and whatnot... never happened though. In fact, we barely noticed a difference between norm and elite. Was this announced or did they just stealth-backpedal it out?

would be interested to know this; i have the feeling that it was a long time ago when death pens were standardized etc.

beating the abbot is a huge accomplishment for any group their first time, no matter how many others have done it - for new people to master the raid takes a commendable level of dedication and practice.

By the time Eladrin got done messing around in there, I don't think you'll recognize the Abbot. It's like Extreme Home Makeover: Necropolis Edition.

is it really that complete a redo of the raid? will none of the lessons or experiences from the present edition apply at all?

Heh ok maybe it's not THAT extreme. It's not like you look around and suddenly the Abbot is a giant white rabbit and you're getting attacked by flying toothbrushes or anything. Lots of changes around the way the puzzles work to make them more PUG friendly, and maaaaaybe.... some new shinies. He's still an angry lich who wants to kill you though.

I'd pretty much been expecting a revamp of the puzzle sections, and my main object of interest has been whether the special attack/evasion sections will be changed or not (if the design is pug friendliness, then my guess is yes, the inferno/etc mechanisms were changed, because they are actually more pug-unfriendly than the tile puzzle).

makes me not feel bad about running it now (get a lot of flack from friends and guildies who say 'wait til its easier!' as I'll be that many completions closer to 20 than they are

I don't usually like to seem this greedy, but I'm hoping this wasn't the big reveal you were aluding to yesterday. Welcome news that these changes are, but I am still hoping for some much bigger news today...

Noooooope something else. I'm in the process of getting it ready. I was hoping to have it for our victory dance over Nintendo, but getting all the games and billing working has been top priority.
