My monk is using holy handwraps of lesser undead bane (I am hoping to find holy undead or gtr holy undead bane), which seems to be the best DPS for him as he doesn't have any GS kamas. Does anyone use fists of light in combination, is it effective?

I use fist of light and +2 Greater Undead Bane handwraps.

Liches have DR bludgeon and magic. Level 4 monks get Ki Strike: Magic and handwraps are bludgeoning so using any wraps will bypass his DR. So then it's just a matter of going as high on the + and extra damage (e.g. holy, pure good, undead bane) as possible. I also like to start with a cursespewing kama until he gets cursed so that he saves from the cleric's Heals more.
Fist of Light will give extra dps and also help the non-monks who might also be hitting him, so you should spam that as it cycles. Lich are immune to cold and electric attacks so you could consider cycling your Fire or Earth attacks for extra dps.
Sor'jek in SOS is one of the raid bosses where monks excel in their damage dealing ability, so enjoy it!
