I joined on Saturday or Sunday, I forget.
Today, I voted in the Valve - Turbine contest, for Turbine.
Turbine won it last year, which was news to me. I played DDO last year but never heard of Escapist or of the voting contest.
After reading the absolute amount of hate and vitriol over there against Turbine and their players and voters, why would I ever want to join there? I am not a masochist.
Then looking at some facts posted by Stormanne, she/he points out that STEAMVALVE or whatever the valve site is, had a THREAD up about voting for their games two days before Turbine.
Second, I read some the posts on STEAMVALVE(or whatever) and they brag how they just joined, made a vote, made a post, got suspended, or left.
Then, in the Turbine Valve thread, which is now closed, bunches of Valve players say
1. It is so unfair turbine asks their players to vote, when Valve did the same thing but two days before.
2. The Valve posters complain about all of the turbine voters just coming over, but on the valve site the valve fans are doing the EXACT SAME Thing.
3. And there was some "problem" in the last valve voting match also. That was pre-Turbine.
To Turbine, you can tell Escapist there is no way I could ever consider going to their site and staying for their supposed community. Looks like a bunch of impudent pueriles to me.
To top it off, TURBINE has been down for almost two days. How many of us remembered about the just for fun voting contest?
I think the VALVE players are just very, very bad losers. And if VALVE wins, I cannot imagine the childish posts that will be made, mostly from the VALVE side with a few from the Turbine side in response.
