very hard to play. dont know what else to call it lag????
game kinda locks up have to wait, what do i need to do?
dont know much about computers, dsl hook up, windows xp

We've all been there, just ask your party if its choppy when it is for you to comfirm that its not your fault.

If it is, just decrease your graphics settings, and update your graphics/video/sound card(s), upgrade your RAM, or install new drivers. But don't worry about it too much, its probably turbine's fault.

Many players have been having issues with unprecedented lag after Turbine switched datacenters a while back.

That makes this very exciting news.

I would wait until after Monday to see if your performance is any better. If not, then you can look into things like upgrading RAM and so forth. If you posted the specs of your computer, some people here could give you specific suggestions.

One thing that's fairly easy to do in the mean time is to check for updated drivers for your hardware (video card's the big one, chipset, operating system updates, sound driver updates, NIC driver updates could all help as well). And beyond that, simple optimization things like doing a disk cleanup and defrag may help a teeny bit as well.
