I think the OP wasn't talking about capability here Jopin...
I play almost as well as anyone else... But that doesn't stop (in pugs at least) constant inuendoes and comments that while amusing the first fifty or so times do get tiring after a while...
"oh E', you come up the rear of the group... you'd be good at that..."
or
"don't be such a **** Joe, oh wait, E' likes ****, keep doing that then..."
VERY childish...
Personally my play-style has absolutely nothing to do with my sexual orientation...
But being openly gay does bring its list of subtle inuendoes and jokes that can wear down the enjoyment of the game after a while... its also is very draining to have to watch everything you say and do all the time... very draining to have to think of wording things correctly so ******s don't take it and run with it with yet another gay innuendo or open joke...
In the three years i've been playing DDO i've had pugs leave groups after they discovered they were playing with an openly gay man, questioned on my capabilities as an officer because of my sexual orrientation, and refused entry into pug raids cause "oh your that *** - no thanx"...
So while i don't believe there is a need for an "alternative lifestyle" guild, I can see that the OP may just be tired of having to second guess his own wording, playing by strict self imposed rules to not open ones self to ridicule or harrassment.
Heck - i've thought at times it'd be fun to run with a group of guys i could just let loose and be myself with.
But that doesn't help the integration or undestanding from fellow civilised human beings...
The inteligent person knows our sexual orrientation has nothing to do with our capabilities as players.
The truly intelligent knows that with a Gay man in the group we not only succeed the raid - we get it done in style
