Best Ki heal?

Since a lot of people seem underrate the effectiveness of this finisher I just though I would post my average and max heal amount and see what how other people do.

My monk currently has human healing amp 2 and monk healing amp 3, I'm using a superior potency 3 ring of steady spell casting +5 and have the superior devotion lore gauntlets from Reaver. My average heals are in the 30-40 range to all around me and I have critted on myself for over 130 with a best of about 137 so far. I'm going to try and move some things around and get rank 3 in both lines and see what it does for my numbers.

What kind of numbers do other people get? Are most monks even using this free healing source? Does the devotion line for those ranger/monk combos affect the finisher?

I do 22-27 usually. Don't have any extra things like Superior Potency to help tho.

How do you find room on your monk to wear those kind of items regularly.. I average 20-30, with nothing else added to it on my monk.

What in the world are you wearing that you don't have extra slots on a monk?

I have resist +5, protect +5, items for wis, con, str, and dex, armor bracers, heavy fort and use outfits for resists as well as blindness immunity of spot goggles. I still have gloves and a ring slot open for me to wear items to boost my healing. I don't have any greensteel yet but I have the items ready for my next trip in. Not sure what else I could have in gear besides doing an huge number of titan runs for a chattering and although I've done a couple of hound and VoD runs so far I have not been lucky enough to win any of the good items.

I'm curious what the average unlucky in raid loot monk wears that they would not have slots free..

About 35 with just a Superior Devotion item and no other healing augmentation.

I sometimes use it in regular groups, in most raids (just about all I do with my Monk anyways) there's no point, the Mass Cure spells are coming in too fast for such a small amount of healing to matter and it takes SO long to pull off. It was VERY useful while leveling up though. Now, I might use it between fights though when Ki is full. I much prefer mashing Earth 3, Earth 2, Earth 1 and trying to help with DPS. In the same time it takes to fire off Healing Ki I can cycle through all my Earth strikes twice. It's just too **** slow to build up, and while you're building it up you can't use any of your other more offensively useful strikes.

Trinket: Was Bloodstone but I moved it to an alt two days ago, just have Voice of the Master there now
Necklace: Wisdom
Head: Superior Devotion
Torso: Icy Raiment
Goggles: +1 Insight ToHit from Korthos

That's just about as crappy as it gets, though Icy Raiment was a nice surprise.

Does empowered heal effect Healing Ki? I was thinking about splashing 1 level of cleric to take empowered heal on my dragonmarked halfling. If it also effects monk healing that would be awesome.

You could potentially add 60% to all your healing with empowered heal and cleric life magic.

On anything that lasts longer then a couple seconds and that the curse works on I am firing the healing curse on the target of the group. It lets me build up to the group heal and everyone swinging with 2 weapons is getting a lot of healing from the curse. It seems the curse only lasts about 6 seconds, would be nice it if lasted longer but on anything that lives that long its worth it to fire it off. The hard part is getting the ki in the hits I have before the target dies. Only Harry and Sulu seem to be immune to the curse so far.

I have never splashed cleric with monk so I have not been able to test it. It would be interesting it it worked. The monk/ranger combos could also test it since rangers also get a devotion line.

Oh and my curse of healing often hits me for 3 points right now. Just a bit more and it should be hitting me for up to 4 hps. The advantage of a Human Monk.

My monkey ranger(9 monk,6 rgr, 1 rogue) has 401 HPs 71AC self buffed 38 UMD self buffed, and is lots of fun to play

Yeah, definitely work that angle as a Human.

Pretty sure metamagics don't work on monk abilities, or at least they're not supposed to. Eladrin comments on this here and I think the fix came in Module 8 patch 1.

Metamagics do not apply to monk finishing moves. For a short while when monks came out they did (and my monk enjoyed tossing out 60-70ish Healing Ki due to superior potency, Maximize, and Empower).
