Default Looking to reroll a pally, need a build

Hello, after a year off, I am back to DDO and looking to grow a new Pally with:
Khopesh feat, decent damage but obviously not the best DPS, Shield and Weapon, best AC possible (please name the quests for the stuff I need besides chaosgarde) , UMD, might consider multiclass for evasion.

    Thanks for the help.

Please use only +1 tomes on the stats and +5 mith tower shield and +4 mith FP.
I would like to go Drow if possible.

Your best bet for AC is to forget Full plate and a tower shield and go HIGH dex with a splash of Monk....so you will need a high wisdom as well.

I have a s/b paladin and the best AC that I can get unbuffed is 55ish. That is without an insight shroud item. I do decent DPS but, granted, it is lacking compaired to other builds. Basically S/B paladins are becoming crit monkeys. Case in point, one of the named reavers in the sub last night....I had 5 smites go off for over 500 points each in about 15 seconds.

The high-dex paladin with 2 levels of monk right now seems to be a very compelling class. You can sacrifice strength to go weapon finesse, use rapiers/shortswords (take drow for your race) and achieve nearly equal DPS to khopesh when the racial enhancements to attack and damage are taken. By sacrificing strength (if you start with a 10, you can achieve an 18 with a +2 tome or even 20 if you take 2 stat level increases) it allows you to pump a lot of points into dex, con, charisma and get wisdom high-ish. Start with an 11 intelligence to get to 13 with a +2 tome and that leaves combat expertise open as well if you want to take it in the future.

For instance, if you start with stats like this:
    str:10
    dex:18
    con:14
    int:11(10)
    wis:9(10)
    cha:14

Put level increases to strength (2), con (1 or 2) and cha (2 or 1), you end up with

    str:20 (+2 tome)
    dex:28 (+2 tome)
    con:24 (+2 tome)
    int:19 (+2 tome)(18)
    wis:16 (+1 tome)(18 w/+2 tome)
    cha:24 (+1 tome)

    AC with this build:
    10 -- base
    6 --- DT vestment
    2 --- chaosgard
    9 --- dex modifier
    4 --- wisdom bonus
    1 --- alchemical ritual
    5 --- paladin aura
    4 --- insight from greensteel/DT sovereign rune
    5 --- combat expertise
    5 --- protection
    5 --- barkskin
    3 --- chattering ring/DT armor

this is mine; raid buffs to 75 ac at the present endgame:

    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=175058

Obviously, it's got a lot better equipment than you mentioned, but I didn't really have better when I started him: the key is to build for the long-term because better stuff comes with time.

He is human, though, as it's a much better race for a tank-paladin (drow are better for twf dps template)

    Arrow

69 Unbuffed-Undispellable-Unboosted AC; 30 STR; 482 HP's; 44 Intimidate: and AC will increase to Base Unbuffed 73-74 by level cap.

Sure it's a build grind, but I'd do it over agan if I had to....hands down.

Send me a PM if interested in some details about what I would have done differently (He's an OLD build and could have optimized some skills and overall build a lil bit had I known we could farm +3 Tomes like we can today after the bar has been lowered....again.)

One thing that bugs me is when people even bother to mention their "raid" buffed ac. Sure it looks flashy and nice but how often do they even hit it. And once they do hit it, how long does it last.....2 min? Just say, like Dexxaan, your unbuffed total and go from there. It gives a more accurate expectation of the build. Sure, when fully buffed my guy is well into the 60's but then *bam* beholder...it is all gone.

The gear that you will need is here.
    http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=121279

Before you do anything you need to read the new paladin enhancments. If you have been gone for several mods then a lot has changed there. Since you want to go drow I guess you don't have a 32 point build and have been gone for quite some time. Now a days the enhancements are just as important as the feats that you pick.
I would recommend logging on your old pally right now and go to the enhancement tab and click unavailable and expand. This way you can read what is already available. This might greatly effect things such as which weopon you will decide to use and what you want your starting cha stat to be.

Look here to find mod 9 enhancement and capstone information.

If you would like to hear my opinion about multiclassing a paladin I would suggest you don't do it unless you want one of the these options:
    1. One level (maybe 2 but you start to hurt your smites) of fighter at level 1 to max out intimidate. Be ready to grind for the high ac items if you are doing this.
2.Two levels of monks for evasion. Since you cant use a shield for this build you might as well go twf. Why twf and not thf? Because you can time your smites to go off when you are swinging both weopons at the same time.
    3. 1-2 levels of rogue for umd. It's nice but not worth it. At end game you will have the umd that you need to wear umd restricted items and rez people after the battle.

Keep in mind that level 18 and level 20 paladins are getting good stuff next mod so you might not want to multiclass.

Actually, I was thinking of rolling up a Drow 12 Pally / 6 Ranger / 2 Monk for Mod 9.

Tempest I enhancment, Knight of the Chalice II enhancement, Ranger FE Evil Outsider...mmm goodness.
