Unfortunately, it looks like we all rolled 1s for initiative

I turned off DX10 on my computer and the lag virtually disappeared. I'm not sure if this applies for most people, but it worked for me.

Windows XP here, so it isn't even an option for me. My wife has Vista, but she turned it off when it was first released due to some bugs.(Not sure if they ever got fixed or not) Either way, the lag is the same.

We actually were trying to RP during the lag, rolling initiative, etc. with me being the Dungeon Master. Geeks make the most out of any gaming situation.

We lagged out of the Parthenon Tower last night lol! (Part 2 of Mirra's sleepless nights). We reformed the party, went back in and the lag was gone.

Lagged out last night in Korthos on my barbarian 8 grinding some favor all by myself. Some quests were smooth, the actual town and the explorer area were smooth, but there were two quests where I went outside for a smoke while the fishy mobs stood there with a red tinge. They were dead but had not realized it yet, and hadn't done the ever so cool 'flip onto the back' move. Then I did the lag shuffle to the next fight. It was horrible and unacceptable. What could/should have been two minute no xp favor runs turned into 15 minute lagfests.

I even put in a ticket, I was so angry. The in game GM directed me to this website to inform the service folks about my lag issues, although due to the large volume of reports (no kidding) I may not get an individual answer but the information would be passed on to the appropriate people.

I directed the GM to these forums.

He told me he was closing my ticket and asked if there was 'anything else' he could do to help me.

I told him just fix the lag.

    He closed the ticket.

I felt so supported by Turbine. I mean, here I was, just a paying subscriber, and they were willing to listen to me complain about the lag. They even asked me if they could do anything else for me!

Of course, there wasn't anything they could do for me, because I turned off my computer and watched the hockey game, then the end of the baseball game. It was a little disorientating as the players all moved at a real time pace, and even when there was fast action things didn't slow down and get all jerky. But I got used to it.

The lag certainly seems to be instance specific. I was doing some collectible farming in TR yesterday and had terrible lag. I couldn't even self buff. I left and reentered, but it was the same. The lag didn't go away until I let the instance reset.

Yeah, I couldn't even walk around the Necropolis last night... Not the quest area... I'm talking about the area with the bartender, etc... Finally got to the wagon... No problem in House P...

It is not game wide, it's instance-specific... If the instances are staged across multiple servers, maybe only one or two servers are having major problems...

I think the lag is instance specific.

Doing favor runs again last night, most of them N/H/E quick for completion.

Most of them were fine, but every fifth instance or so seemed to be so laggy I didn't even bother with clickie self buffing because they would wear off before anything else happened.

Doing Baudry's Big Box quest (me hate big box!) and trying to protect the box for five minutes, the flow of kobolds seemed to be pretty slow, which made me suspicious so I kept spamming intimidate. With about 30 seconds to go suddenly the box blew up, the room was almost full of kobolds with little intimidate icons overhead, and everything was running at regular speed. I was teleported out after failure, then jumped back in about 30 seconds later and completed it with no lag.

Doing The Missing Party in the Marketplace N/H/E and when I jumped in on Hard it was very laggy, so I recalled out then went back in, and it was still laggy. I jumped out again, went out to the garage for a smoke, came back in, grabbed a beer, the instance had reset. I went back in on Hard and smooth sailing.

Default Definitely seems to be instance based

had to bail out and reform in cry for help elite, kobold assault, and failed a hound run because of nasty laggy instances. It seems obvious when an instance is going to be unplayable when buffs wont take and movement is stopped by lag spikes from the start. Ive also been in a few bad public instances in the last 2 days, one in house deneith and one phiarian that took me 3 minutes to run to the nearby teleporter and get the *&^% out of there. As a thelanian i am used to lag, but the hound run really irked me. As soon as we zoned in I had bad feeling that I was wasting a significant amount of prime PuG time with a slim to nil chance of success, **** u lag beast.

Was also in TR last night. Getting caught in mid-leap across an elite firejet, wondering if you'll get to finish the jump or just get dumped straight down...

Like everyone else, every few instances would be worse than average spikiness.
