8 Man Abbot 'Straight Up' Victory!!!

After a ton of hard work and a committment to zero exploits, Legendary Knights of Mabar (Argo) has taken the Abbot down!!! Not only did we do it without exploits, we did it with 8 players!!!

To be perfectly upfront on our tactics, we cleared the asteroids by summoning ghouls, dispelling them, intimidating them, halting them with halt undead, flesh-to-stoned them and created a nest. This tactic was deemed acceptable by the DEVS!! The other two puzzles we finished by normal means.

Due to our shortman status, we did use a rez cake after completing all three puzzles. We also used a few spell absorption scarabs to help with the infernos.

Our goal was to achieve this before the change to the quest in MOD9. This we have done and we look forward to the updated quest when MOD9 hits!!

Before someone jumps in about how they did it:

Summoned Ghouls : Used Create Undead Spell(s)
Dispelled Ghouls : Used one or more Dispels
Intimidated Ghouls : Character that invested in Intimidate Skill
Halt Undead on Ghouls : Ghouls get a saving throw even if its a 20
Positioned Ghouls where needed : See above
Flesh to Stoned Ghouls : See above

The tactic isn't foolproof and must go correctly, therefore not an exploit. Arcane magic is designed to be complementary like this in usage.

Count me impressed! I appreciate your group working to do this legit. I think the ghoul nest is a legit tactic, and as has been said, a dev mentioned on the forums here that it was a creative way to get it done.

Love the use of the undead against the Abbot. And if the devs were to declare this an exploit and/or "fix it" I think I would have to unsub. That is the kind of thinking that should be encouraged in a game based on D&D.

same way we did it the first time tho we did use a 2 scrolls along with 2 spells and we were happy that the devs didn't say it was an exploit just interesting.
