I already began this same thread subject before and I agree completely but I also have to mention something mentioned in my thread..."Tool Bags", for all the thieves tools we all hold onto. I still like the name tho ;-)

I agree, they might have wanted to call them something different, but the fact is the Coin Lord rep dialog specifically states that they ARE bags of holding. And the last slot a repaired collapsed portable hole. Who knows? Maybe the coin lords hand out a cheap mass produced bag of holding that doesn't reduce all the weight, and the collapse of the portable hole possibly changed its properties so that it now weighs as much as whats put inside it.
I can only go with the dialog that's in the game - and it specifically states that, when you attain the 4th inventory slot, you have a bag of holding.
If I get my hands on a Lexus nameplate and glue it onto a Kia, will you then believe it's a Lexus? 'Cause that's pretty much what we have here. Extradimensional space shouldn't be weighing me down, that's most of the draw of having one of these items. (well, the lack of *encumbrance*, but that's a combination of weight and volume which is what we're talking about here...)
Don't get me wrong...whatever you call it, I'm glad for the 40 extra inventory spots and I'll live with my weaklings occasionally going into medium encumbrance because I'm such a packrat. But the nametag pinned to the bag isn't the right one, that's for sure.
Suggestion to Turbine: Have new character slots open up automatically based on months since account start date.
Update: EU+Store = close enough. Thank you.
That would depend. Do you own the rights to the name Lexus, and are you authorized to make that change? No - but if Kia buys Lexus, then glue's the name plate onto their cars I would – because then it would be a Lexus, since the mfg would say it is, and they have the rights to the name – so that’s kinda an invalid argument. Its not the players saying that the 4th inventory slot is a bag of holding, it’s the dev’s saying it. That makes all the difference in the world.
Using your arguments, why isn’t my straight class fighter allowed to take the Tempest prestige class? I meet the requirements:
Base Attack Bonus: +9
Feats: Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack, Two-Weapon Fighting, and Weapon Finesse (any) or Weapon Focus (any)…
Yet, oddly enough, I can’t take it – because the devs implemented it for Rangers only. I don’t like it, but that’s how it is. This game is based off of the PnP game, but only based – it isn’t a complete 100% accurate conversion.
You can quote the SRD, the Players Handbook, GM’s guide and whatever else you want – but the plain fact is that the dialog box clearly and unequivocally states it’s a bag of holding, therefore we DO have bags of holding in the game. Maybe they shouldn’t have called it that, but they did.
Potion bags, scroll cases and component bags would be nice. I read one of the earlier posts that devs said they had problems having the magic system recognize if the components were in the bag, why don't we allow players to buy a bag that docks like a regular "bag of holding?"
Based on the update on Lamannia, this is still the case. We are getting Hireling Folders that will hold the Hireling contracts. But, in order to actually use one, you have to take the contract out of the Hireling Folder. So it appears the limitation is still present and they havent discovered a way to overcome it yet.
Another solution would be to allow you to use the lowest level ingredient you had, as long as it's at least the level of the spell.
In other words, once you get L9 spell comps, you can carry 1000 of those, and use them for everything, if you're willing to pay the higher cost of mats to gain the 8 other open pack slots.
Part of being a caster is the need to carry components. As in PnP a caster would often have to use more pack space on items for spells than anything else.
If we make component bags this non-issue [since they stack to 1000] will just open up what.. 4-6 pack spots? Is it really worth it?
No. Makes no sense.
