Please.. Fill in my Enormous Gaps.....
Base Damage, Crit Range, and Multiplier are all factors, HOWEVER the rate at which you swing them is of critical importance, for a reason you yourself pointed out just a few posts above, which is that ceteris paribus there is no round in DDO and some things swing faster, therefore having higher average damage over time.

it doesnt matter if the devs meant anything or not, if a weapon swings faster or slower, that makes it's average output different than another weapon.
What it does is make many weapons Useless. theres not 100 Greataxe/Maul users to every ONE Falchion user cause there is a minor difference in DPS.

I digress though, this is an excellent discussion, but not the right thread.... CForce recently posts a very complete breakdown of attack speed for the various weapons Per BAB.

Default I bit it, and had to REROLL!!!!

Ok...I got to thinking about my current build that I posted earlier, and decided to reroll him. It was sad to see all of those tomes wasted on the previous WF , but I had to do it...it was bugging me too much.

This time I started with a Cha at 14 (instead of 16) and increased his Dex by 1 and Con to a 14 (instead of 10). Here's what I came up with.

    WF (14 Paladin / 6 Ranger)
    lvl 1: Ranger
    lvl 2: Paladin
    lvl 3: Ranger
    lvl 4 - 8: Paladin
    lvl 9 - 12: Ranger
    lvl 13 through 20: Paladin

    Feat Progression
1: Mith. Body / Toughness (after lvl 6 probably)
    - 1: Favored Enemy Reptile/Giant
    3: Dodge
    - 3: TWF
    6: Mobility
    9: Improved Crit (Slashing)
    - 11: Favored Enemy Evil Outsiders
    12: Spring Attack
    - 12: ITWF
    15: GTWF
    18: PA

    Stats
    Str: 16 +5(lvl) +3(tome) +6(Levik's Bracers) = 30
    Dex: 15 +2 (tome) +5 (Spectral Gloves) = 22
    Con: 14 +2 (tome) +6 (Neck or DT Docent) = 22
    Int: 8 +2 (tome) = 10
    Wis: 6 +2 (tome) +6 (GS Stalemate) = 14
    Cha: 14 +2 (tome) +6 (Cloak) = 22

Skill Progression (in order of precedence):
    1st - UMD
    2nd - Balance
    3rd - Diplomacy
    4th - Jump
    5th - Hide
    6th - Move Silent
    7th - Spot

    Gear
    Head: Minos Legens
Neck: +6 Con / Silver Flame Tailsman
Trinket: Bloodstone (+1 Saves Ritual)/ Head of Good Fortune
Cloak: GS Aspect of Smoke II (WIZ VI, +1 Cha Skills, +5 Dex Skills, +35 HP, Displacement 2/rest, 20% perma-blur)
Belt: GS Stalemate 2 (+6 Wis, +5 Cha Skills, +10 HP, +150 SP, +1 Str Skills, Concordant Opp)
    Ring 1: GFL
    Ring 2: +6 Cha Ring
Gloves: Spectral Gloves / Seven Fingered Gloves (for UMD)
Boots: Striders 30% -or- Gyroscopic Boots / Madstone x2
    Bracers: Levik's Bracers
    Goggles: Tharne's Goggles
Docent: Dragontouched (+5 Res / Crushing, Salt, or Magma Guard / Freezing or Earth Grab Guard) and Titanic Docent x 4 for the clickies

    Weapon(1): GS Scimitar (Lightning II)
Weapon(2): GS Kukri (Min II) or (Pos/Pos/Pos)

Shield: Levik's Defender (for Turtleing up)

*Also plan on having lots of GS Haste clickies

    Enhancements:
    4 - Ranger Tempest I
3 - Ranger Favored Dmg II
1 - Ranger Energy of the Wild
    1 - Ranger Sprint Boost I
    1 - Ranger Favored Defence I
    2 - Ranger Favored Attack I
    12 Total

1 - Paladin Follower of the Lord of Blades
    4 - Paladin Bladeswarm Transformation
3 - Paladin Courage of Good II
3 - Paladin Energy of the Templar II
    6 - Paladin KotC II
6 - Paladin Extra Smite Evil III
3 - Paladin Divine Might II
3 - Paladin Exalted Smite III
3 - Paladin Divine Sacrafice II
    3 - Paladin Toughness II
6 - Paladin Bulwark of Good III
6 - Paladin Extra Lay on Hands III
    1 - Paladin Item Defense I
6 - Paladin Resistances of Good III
    57 Total

    2 - WF Healer's Friend I
    3 - WF Toughness II
6 - WF Power Attack III
    11 Total

    Sum = 80

You can see that I am only really concerned about DPS and plan on playing this character simular to a rogue (letting others take the main agro and slip in on the side to attack) due to the low AC and mid lvl HPs.

Let me know what y'all think about this build. I would appreciate any feed back (good or bad).

    Default What...no comments?

Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions to my build? Right now I have him a lvl 15 and 75% of his items have been attained. I am still open for suggestions.

I have to add that I really like playing this toon...but he is very hard to play...alot of clickies.

I'd say robes, you can swap in and out faster, say get smiting on one robe, guards on another? ...thats what I did on my barbarian anyway.

Most people start there own thread for their own builds...not post it into someone elses.

Every time a 14/6 paly ranger is mention the dps calcutator war is rehashed lol, I should revive my nerf this build thread and to save every one the trouble for when they finally do nerf it, and every body is ticked off lol

Ya think they'll make Zeal a L5 paly spell?

I highly doubt this will be an earthshattering build.. Good yes...... Gamebreaking? far from it.

At this point i just kinda of gotta idea how turbine operates, look at the past and you can see the road it heads down. This was a build i wanted to roll but i know in the end ill be disappointed on nerf day. My guess is they will just type it the same and thus not stack at some point.

It has happen to probably everybody at least once, their builds undone by a turbine balance, does it make the build end being garbage? Usually not but still disappointing seeing the hard grinding get blasted.

Bump to a really good build. So, was mod 9 good, indifferent, or bad for this build?
