Sneak/Sneak Attack?

Hi all- anyone (and I assume many of you do) know how this works?

I can stealth up to some mobs, get my sneak attack in- sometimes this breaks stealth,sometimes not.
(I assume when it breaks it's because something saw me)
Now, sometimes when I remain in stealth mode mobs kind of see me(they start moving around) but they can't locate me.
At this poin though, I no longer get my sneak attack damage on any I succesfully hit.

Do I only get one sneak attack per time I'm in stealth?


Also (on an unrelated note) does anyone know if they still/ever did sell potions of invisibility?
I swear I used to buy them for my cleric, but I can't find any in the potion shops I went to.
Can you buy them or are they loot only?

You only get sneak damage if you are not the monster's target. If the monster is busy beating on the cleric, you get sneak attack damage until you deal enough pain for the monster to turn on you.

Also if the monster has no target and you are stealthed you will get 1 sneak attack (or 2 if weilding 2 weapons), but after the first hit the monster will almost always turn its attention on you and you no longer get your sneak damage.

As far as I know, potions of invisibility are chest-loot only. They do sell scrolls though (need a UMD check of 24 to activate).
