Default What LAG details to report.

Following Thanimal's thread on Lag: DETAILS
    as seen here: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=175262

I started to poke some devs to see what sort of player information could help them the best. This is the list that we came up with.

So please give them this data here.

    -----------------------------

    ] OS:

    ] Version of DirectX using:

    ] Quest:

] Number of characters in the group (if hirelings were there, name them please.):

    ] Server:

    ] location result via /loc:

] Ping time, latency, etc. as reported via the client:

] Description of lag you were facing:

] Description of what you were doing when it started:

] Description of what you did that seemed to fix lag (if possible.):

    --------Extra Details -----------

Time (including zone): Only if the lag was severe should you include zone.
Trace Route Results: Don't worry about this too much, but if some hops are REALLY bad, it may be worthy to note.

(Ripped as Quote to use the list)

So please give them this data here.

    -----------------------------

] OS: Windows XP 64 Pro SP 3

] Version of DirectX using: 9.0c

] Quest: Thirteenth Eclipse, Hound of Xoriat, Vision of Destruction, Vault of Night, Subterrane area in general, Tempest's Spine(Any Raid group)

] Number of characters in the group (if hirelings were there, name them please.): at least 10, often 12, all players.

    ] Server: Mabar. Er... Argonessen.

] location result via /loc: Entire Quest Instance, /loc is irrelevant in this case.

] Ping time, latency, etc. as reported via the client: 50-80ms latency(does not change), all traffic appears normal according to other players' comparisons.

] Description of lag you were facing: When swinging a weapon at something, my client falls behind the party in datastream to a point where I have to *stop* performing *any* action to wait for the 5-30 seconds of data to "catch up" to my client so my animations may resume and I can see things again. The party freezes in place, and I guess at where I am swinging. During The Shroud part 1, after the second portal I literally cannot see portals and assume I am hitting one. When I see the flash, it's time to move to the next one. It is not so severe in the later parts but does happen in parts 2, 4 and 5. Notice: The lag requires me to attack, and happens faster and more frequently when I am on my Tempest Ranger or Monk(GTWF), and less quickly or severely(but still happens) on my THF Barbarian. In Houd of Xoriat, after Xyzzy takes a good 10 hits from me, the lag makes it impossible to tell whether she moved, or is taking damage, or anything, until I see the quest complete and the data rams my client like an angry rich woman on the day before Thanksgiving sale. I cannot substantially contribute to a raid until this is fixed. This began Module 8 patch 3.

Additonal description: I can drink potions(Cure, Mnemonic) and recieve buffs in realtime, I cannot cast them or use them on others in realtime(Haste, Rage, etc).

] Description of what you were doing when it started: Inputting commands to the client, usually attack commands with a target in mind. The lag is on the return data.

] Description of what you did that seemed to fix lag (if possible.): Stop attacking and wait, idle, not moving at all.

If I were playing a Cleric, I would be responsible for failed raids due to this problem, as the problem is with any user input at all(Tested by Chain-Casting and recieving the same lag result).

    --------Extra Details -----------

Time (including zone): Any time of day on Argonessen, tested at peak and off times. Zone is United States Central time.
*Googles some Trace Route software* - DDO is the ONLY program that has this problem.
