I refuse to do Visions again

I just failed in a group because of lag. The lag in there is terrible. It is a waste of time and resources to get close to the end of a raid and fail due to the lag. Until it is fixed I'm just not going to bother.

Welcome to DDO! Home of lag, lag, and more lag. If you look to your left you'll see some lag. If you look to your right you'll see some fanbois claiming there is no lag. I hope you enjoy your short stay and have a nice canceled subscription!

Well, I went on a guild run once, where we wiped at the very beginning. Of course, it is hard to survive for long when not a single heal spell ever goes off because of lag. Both myself and one other barbarian went all the way through our combat logs and didn't see a single instance of a heal, cure, or reconstruct spell landing. We could even see the casting animations going off, but nothing would actually happen. We should have known better when just getting to the quest was tough because of people lagging off ledges, halfway through jumps, etc. Even in Shroud, we had a run last week where the lag was so bad we barely even made it through, and that was in a fairly good group. But even the best DPS doesn't help when only every third swing or so even registers.

If everyone on Thelanis buys new PCs and changes their ISPs first, then Turbine may check into this potential lag issue. Otherwise I just don't see them owning up to this issue.

Other players aren't finding lag when they are on Korthos island, so how could there possibly be lag in raids?

That everyone is getting huge lag spikes (sometimes lasting up to 3 minutes) could not possibly be Turbine's fault. I suggest everyone who is upset about the lag add it to their signatures so it gets the attention it deserves.

The lag is, slowly but steadily, eroding my desire to play the game. This is my off time, time that I want to spend having fun with my friends fighting monsters. Not a time I want to spend fighting frustration and anger due expressly to lag - commiserating with my friends over the sad state the game has fallen into.

It's not my computer. It's not my video card. It's not my IP.
It's server-side lag, lag that only hit me once they changed their network provider. And it needs to be fixed soon, or I won't give a bloody **** what cool things are coming in the next mod. As I said in my other post - I'm moving into a new house soon, and adding a lot of additional financial burden to my life. If I cannot just log in to have fun & not have to worry about lag - then I simply will find a better use of my free time.

Totally agree memnir!

For people to even suggest that its ones computer makes me laugh every time

Peoples computers have not changed since the game came out, yet lag is worse.
People have upgraded to near super computers, faster net speeds etc etc, yet the lag gets worse.

A 12 man shroud raid, built from people all over the world get the lag at the exact same point, yet people will still suggest that it is their computer.

If by chance you dont experience lag, I think you should start your own cult or something for you are the incarnation of the lag god. Delivering lag to everyone but yourself, either that or you are completely full of ****.

Unfortunately when mod 9 does eventually come out, (I hear it really does exist), the lag is gonna be unbearable.

Imagine the lag when we travel to the devils plane, which I would presume will be raids of some sort.

Has anyone thought that it is the Devils delivering tha lag, gotten alot worse since meridia you know......( just trying to lighten it up a bit lol)

If someone doesn't experience lag ever in DDO, then I invite you to Argo and roll a cleric. You could probably make a bundle of plat advertising yourself to shroud/vod groups as: "The Cleric Who Never Hits Lag." You'd be rich in no time.

Who are these community members anyway? I think the players are responsible for the lag. If turbine could get rid of them I have a suspicion the lag would disapper too.

Its not lag. It's a feature. Increased difficulty level due to raid mastery.

I'm not sure why I thought of it, but it just seemed to fit. I'm not that great with graphics editing though or I would have put it on a screen shot, or one of the splash screens as a background instead of the original there.

Could have been worse. Completed 3 VoD this weekend and the only time anything dropped it was the bard cloak.

Yep, without the users the game probably works just fine.
