Scalemail gets NO metal type other than steel?

Scalemail seems to get the short-end of the stick when it comes to usefulness. Why are Mythril and Admantite not available for scalemail?

I like the look of this armor but it is mostly unhelpful due to it's low armor bonus and middle-to-high armor check penalty. I do like the Full Plate armors, but scalemail has a different look and on one of my alts I prefer this armor's look, but it is such a gimped armor I cannot justify continuing to use it.

There are few special scalemail armors to find in the game and one of the named armors with 'Scale' in the title is actually chainmail instead of scalemail.

Interestingly the best special scalemail available, the Demon Scale Armor, has in it's effects Mythril improvements but it is still considered steel. You CAN craft Dragon Scalemail but it still works like steel scalemail, with all the negatives intact. And both, the former and the latter, cannot be had until late-game and/or massive effort are achieved.

I like the visual diversity this armor provides. There should be Mythril and Admantite versions of this fine looking armor.

And perhaps, more named versions too. Armor of the Merfolk, +2 Underwater Action Mythril Scalemail of Swiming(+5)

As an aside question: Do the developers look at these suggestions or are these suggestions just for discussion amongst the player base?

Those metal types would be insufficient to make it a viable choice.

I agree that Scale is useless armor, beyond the few folks like the OP who like it's look. But there is no reason why it cannot be included in the special material grouping, either.

As for if the Devs read this forum or not... you don't want to know my thoughts on that matter. I'm a cynical ol' bastard these days.
