Hi all, just a heads up that there won't be a show this weekend as I will be out of town for a funeral. My wife's grandfather passed away this week, so I'll be in Ohio attending the funeral. I'll be back to my regular schedule the week after!

Congratulations, Jerry!
If this is your wife's grandfather, that very likely means he was old - 80+. Which means he led a full, robust life... an amazing accomplishment that deserves celebration.
(I hope this wasn't too inappropriate, my intentions are not malicious... I feel anytime someone outlives their expiration date, there is cause for celebration).
My condolences for you and your extended family, hope you have a safe trip.

Sorry for your families loss Jerry. As a side note, depending on where in Ohio you're going, you may want to take extra care. Central OH is really bad right now with idiots on the road...
Thanks, everyone, for all of the kind words I've received in recent days. I will say this - he was an amazing and highly intelligent man who at his age (he was in his 80's) took an interest in learning how to use computers to send email, scan documents and deal with real estate-related programs. He had quite a bit of success in his career and was well-liked throughout the community (in the Dayton, Ohio area).
His end came quickly. Just a few weeks ago he appeared fine! I saw him at Christmas and thought to myself how lucky I'd be if I was in his kind of shape at his age. It was shocking that within literally two weeks he went from fine to no longer with us. I don't think the doctors know exactly what happened, other than it was some kind of cancer-like issue with his lungs.
He died with most of his extended family around him, which I guess must be considered to be "a good way to go" if possible. And he'll be missed.
Jerry my Sincere condolences and prayers for you and your family.
I am reminded of a Pearl Jam song: Man of the Hour...
"Tidal waves don't beg forgiveness
Crashed and on their way
Father he enjoyed collisions; others walked away
A snowflake falls in may.
And the doors are open now as the bells are ringing out
Cause the man of the hour is taking his final bow
Goodbye for now.
Nature has its own religion; gospel from the land
Father ruled by long division, young men they pretend
Old men comprehend.
And the sky breaks at dawn; shedding light upon this town
They'll all come round
Cause the man of the hour is taking his final bow
G'bye for now.
And the road
The old man paved
The broken seems along the way
The rusted signs, left just for me
He was guiding me, love, his own way
Now the man of the hour is taking his final bow
As the curtain comes down
I feel that this is just g'bye for now."
