    Default Honor your commitments

There are many very good things abou this fantastic game. There are also some annoying ones that are inherant in the game. For the love of god, please do right by your fellow gamers by honoring your offerings.
No reason to add to game/lag/issue problems by causing unnecessary friction with your breathren.

Point in case: Just finished a Vod run that was silky smooth.........with 8 or so of the 12 that were in a Hound run that was also easy breasy. Plate mail and the goggles fall. The lucky awarded may do whatever they want with them from my point of view. Take em, sell em, trade em......give to a buddy, give to a guildie. All good from my point of view.

The armor goes up for roll and is awarded the highest roller. Congrats.

Goggles owner askes one of his buddies if he has a set yet. His buddy does already, so they are offered up for roll. As usual my loaded dice get me a 93.......high roll against 3 or 4 others. Owner asks if there are any others interested. 30 seconds pass, then one of the previous rollers rolls 8 or 9 times till he beats my 93 with a 95. Goggles are handed to him, he insta pulls them and that is that.

I said ouch in party chat.
Fo out, thank the group for the good games and leave party.

Decide that my ranting here is the most productive outlet for my irritation. It is just a game and i was snookered out of some 00's and 11's.

I just cant see a reason for the sillyness. Do whatever you want with your loots, but please for the love of all that is holy...........respect the game and others in it by standing behind your commitments once they are made. Said player irritated me for no reason, and while I have what I believe to be a solid reputation on Khyber, have no past experiance with this player to cause such a strange set of events.

In the least if after the roll off the looser said he must have them and offered the person a mill plat in tell and made a deal he couldnt pass up, just acknowlege it and everyone moves on understanding.

There were some big boy guilds represented in this run, so if there please adjust the above if noted differance, and keep the players other than me out of the equation. Not here to rail at the person that the goggles dropped for, more to ask for a bit more fore thought in dealing with the other people that love the game and pay the $15.00 a month. Lets keep it clean, it really will help with the lag.

Wow. I was actually in this party.

As soon as I saw all the loot, I finished out and dropped since I already had the goggles, but I did witness that you won the roll.

You can PM me who actually got the goggles and who looted them.

    I wonder why?

Usually there's a reason for this - past history, ticked someone off a long time ago, that kind of thing... but you're a pretty easygoing guy from what I can tell.

Best I can guess is that the person confused you with someone less desirable. I've confused you for this individual before, so I could see it happening.

I'm pretty sure there wasn't confusion.

Apprecate it. I am concious enough about my reputation that I have tried to brand myself with the var's and vara's. Like to think people know now what there getting with a var shows up....semi compident, semi equipt, super easy going. Totaly right about the past history, but confusingly the person in question started the quest while forming by asking if people from this server use intimdate in this quest........making the small chance I had somehow accidently slighted him in the past even smaller. Ah well, perhaps i had butted heads with him in forums or the like, but didnt get that feel to be honest. Was just wierd.

It didn't seem like it had anything to do with you, Varr. I wouldn't worry about that.

If people want to only have their guildies roll on their loot, then so be it. That's not how we handle loot in my guild, but I'm not here to tell people what to do with their pulls.

I think people should just be a little more upfront about their intentions instead of attempting some clandestine maneuver like they did.

You'll pull the goggles another day .

    Default Meh.

If I'm on one of my characters that's not recognized by people, I haven't seen this happen, but there was one time a couple years ago when I saw almost this exact thing happen. I was on a new roll, so the members of the raid didn't know I was in the run, but it was most irritating.

I'm sorry that you had that experience. Balk is one of our officers, and I'm pretty proud that, while we have a system for raiding, it really pretty much comes down to need before greed. And honestly, that holds pretty true whether it is a guild run or a PUG.

Just the other night in a TF I pulled the gyro boots on my halfling mutt who already has the striders and balance more than covered. There were several guildies in the run who wanted them but agreed with me to offer them up to whoever wanted to roll on them as they were the only loot that dropped. As luck would have it one of the guildies rolled a 97 and took home a nice set of new shoes, but I would have been fine with anyone winning them that had the need.

There's no confusion Qwij his hostility was justly placed

    - oh all joking aside I must second that with another resounding OUCH! (This would have never happened on Thelanis Varr you know that right? Maybe it's time we make the move a permanent one..)

I won't say anything but this; all it takes is one jerk...somewhere...to do this same thing. On Thelanis, on Argo...Ghallanda...wherever.

    All it takes is one.

To say "This wouldn't happen on X" is probably an unfair generalization.

Though it certainly does suck, Varr.

Ever since people realized that they could get +8 damage even if they weren't a rogue, these goggles have been a ridiculous point of contention.

If nothing else, I get a kick out of seeing people who post here about their strict "need before greed" policy pull these goggles while the nearby rogue cries.

I don't know about all the drama, sounds like the other guy just made a strong offer to him via /tell.

    Default Loot

I certainly commend you Var on taking the high road with this one. I know several people that would have gone into a berzerker frenzy in game and in the forums.

I would bet that the guy had either a tell from a guildy or a guild chat conversation was happening behind the scenes, so the original owner just waited until that person rolled high enough.

Two-Thumbs up for taking the high road . Hmm.... is this Khyber?
