That kind of comment belongs on a different thread. Gary meant a great deal to a lot of people. I can guarantee you that he has nothing to do with any delay in Mod 9.

I've been playing since "The Keep on the Borderlands" . . . i.e., basic D&D. He had a great sense of humor too, so please . . . enough with the pretentious reverence.

I am thankful that people like Gary G. have gave such creativity to the world. I for one have benefited.

To the negative folks on this thread. Try giving back to the world in his honor rather then flaming those that are trying to add to the world (e.g. Turbine).

When I was a kid and a teenager, I couldn't mow enough lawns to keep up with the overwhelming amount of material that TSR / WOTC put out. That isn't exactly the case these days with DDO. I think that's the point that Jr is making. The content generation was prolific. DDO content is anything but prolific.

Well, since Jr was definitely voicing his personal view and appraisal of the situation - it fits under article two of Opinion. His post was not malicious, false, or defamatory in regards to any person, place, or thing - so it cannot by definition apply at all to Slander.

The lesson here is - just because you do not agree with someone's personal opinion, or are unhappy that they publicly state said opinion - it is not slander. To label is such is an overreaction, quite silly, and laden with ignorance in your own right. You proposed one sort of vigil - he counter-proposed with his own. He in no way besmirched, damaged, defamed, or slandered the name of E. Gary Gygax by stating his own opinion.

Just because you disagree with somebody - it does not make them wrong.

Exactly.
It's far less time to check the fourms - exchange what passes for witty banter around here () - and log off than it is to log into the game. Logging into the game and trying to do anything productive is something I cannot do as much as I'd like to since it's more time consuming.
