    Default Cleric Healing Spells

    Dear Devs

can you please make it so cleric healing spells are not locked for each level, it is silly to have to continue to carry low level healing spells when you have access to critical and critical mass, we clerics could use the spell slots for something else from our range of available spells.

Yes please. I'd like the option to have a more versatile spell selection.

Esp where I top out. Right now, I have access to 3 5th's, and one is taken up by a mass heal, which I rarely use.

They are "Extra" slots. If we lsot them, we owuld not be able to take an additional spell anyway.

No, you couldn't use the slots for anything else.

It's the bonus Cures, or nothing. Compare your spells per level with a wizard and see: the cure spells are in addition to your prepared spells, not in place of them.

Oh, they're bonus slots? My bad.

Yup, they added them to simulate the D&D "spontaneous casting" rule for neutral/good aligned clerics.

Mass heal will be interesting. It'll kill those undead! Big spell point suck, though, I imagine.

If DDO do implement the "Spontaneous Casting" follow SRD's ruleset, you are not going to see any "extra slot" at your level 9 spell slot -- since Mass Heal (and Heal) are not belong to "cure" spell so a cleric can't "convert" his spell casting to a "heal" or "mass heal".

The "extra" spell slot for cleric should stop at level 8 (mass cure critical, mind you)

Spontaneous Casting: A good cleric (or a neutral cleric of a good deity) can channel stored spell energy into healing spells that the cleric did not prepare ahead of time. The cleric can “lose” any prepared spell that is not a domain spell in order to cast any cure spell of the same spell level or lower (a cure spell is any spell with “cure” in its name).
