    Default Sneak Peek: Shavarath!

Discuss the sneak peek of upcoming Module 9 features: Shavarath, the Plane of Battle!

Here are the details, as mentioned in Kate Paiz's Letter To Players:

Here is a sneak peek into the people and places of Shavarath, the Plane of Battle:

Amrath is the fortress of the Arcanaloth and currently the only safe place in Shavarath.

General Horoth is feared and respected by denizens of Shavarath as a warrior and a leader.

The Arcanaloth have agreed to provide the allies of The Twelve the resources they need to quest into the lands of Shavarath.

I think this looks nice, (especially for my upcoming Knight of the Chalice Paladin), but can we get a bit of clarification?

The Plane of Battle hosts a large wilderness, several dungeons, and a multi-part raid that pits players against a new Pit Fiend, General Horoth, and his spectral shadows
Now is this say: the size of Meridia in quests/wilderness; or the size of Gianthold in quest/wilderness?

I am asking because we have a level increase of 16 up to 20 and I would like to know if there is enough new content to be able to level all the way to 20 in just the new area?

Can we get any more sneekish peeking on other types of creatures we may face? That NPC race looks awesome and I would like to know more about them too!

    Thanks for the info!

I would have prefered the players' home base be provided by Archons, in accordance with the standard depiction of Shavarath from the Eberron Campaign Setting.

Shavarath is defined as 30% LE Devils, 30% CE Demons, 30% LG Archons, and 10% neutral beasts. It'll feel a bit weird if the Archons are nowhere to be seen.

I would like to eventually see the Arcanaloth as a playable race, that would be cool, especially as like a favor reward(wink wink).

Looks great. I hope it has alot of quests to accompany the battle with the pit fiend. Otherwise it won't feel as much like shaveroth as it will feel like a holding area for a Raid. Think more like Giant hold less like Reavers Refugee.

DDO certainly has the best graphics of any MMO I've played, and this module looks like it's going to continue in the same vein. Though, if there's lava, please fix the sound effects!

I remember one of Kate's interviews from last year mentioning PvP improvements in module 9 because of the fighting between Archons and Devils... or something like that. Anyway, they at least had them in mind... no matter what really happens.

    Indeed, it looks great.

    But one thing - shadows?

For the love of the game - no more shadows. No more dread wraiths, no more scorpions, no more phasing/burrowing/showdow creatures.

Creatures that are supposed to 'phase' once per round (6 seconds?) but instead attack in a split second, and phase out in less than a second to make it the second most annoying experience in the game trying to HIT them...right behind air elementals knocking back/down at will.

So please for all thats holy FIX shadows (and scorps) so they follow some rules and only phase after being solid for more than .5 seconds after an attack.

These shadows are a bit different than those that you are used to. They don't have a need to phase out ... they are much more confident in their ability to destroy you.
