It does work, just doesn't show on the character sheet.

    Default Yep!

Step into the waterworks and watch all of the kobolds non-damage spells fizzle on ya. Lots of fun. But that is why it doesn't show up on the front page of the character sheet, because the SR only applies to non-damaging spells. Any fireballs, lightning bolts, acid clouds are still going to be a pain but those curses, banes, and all of the other debuffs you are largely going to just shrug off. Enjoy!

tested my lvl 16 monk against a lowly beholder in von 2 in 10 min of spellcastings with a cleric healing my neg lvls i never once saw spellresist go off.

    I think it's borked.

Oh and by the way (referring to your sig), we aren't nerfing the Torc.

SR does work, I promise it is there. I get the "blue shield" all the time on my monk.

save vs the spell effect does not mean the same thing as spell resistance

It's not a matter of stacking.

Dwarven Spell Resistance is a bonus to saves against spells, Spell Resistance itself a check that needs to be passed before a non damage offensive spell can even attempt to touch you

    Default not the same

I don't think Ghynvael was talking about the blue hexagon or whatever shape it is, he is talking about that appears above your head when you make a save. Rather, he is talking about the blue force shield that appears next to your body between you and the caster whenever SR works and I see that all the time as well. Especially in the lower level favor runs.

And Lifespawn, instead of trying it against one of those fellas that have the incredible saves, and prolly some bonuses to beat that SR, try it against the kobolds in one of the harbor quests and see if you notice the 'blue shield' as well.

    I think you will.

Yeah, I s/w a GM on this problem-confirmed it is a "display problem". If you watch the screen graphics-you will see that "blue blur" around your monks head when they resist a spell (due to SR) even though it is not listed on the character screen.

That's true of all SR in DDO(sadly). But the rest of them show up in the character sheet. It not showing up is simply a bug.
    • NEW – Tip #52 no longer mistakenly says that the Jump skill reduces falling damage. The appropriate skill is, in fact, tumble.
