I agree, having been the WF tank and used my Sorc as the "cleric" here. I find a mix of scrolls and the occasional mana based reconstruct works the best.

Your wf dr is so high this works, but for many, its recon with the occasional scroll

Heres the deal with the wf hero method. One sorc with recon, heightened web for the trash, waves of exaustion for sully (off a scroll is just fine) and a fog on him all the time. I like cloud kill (must be lvl 5 or higher i think, and CC doesnt make it hard to see.)

For the bats, if dps is good, i spam the kill party with web when the come out, although i've seen pets work very well. If you have 2 clr and they both dv you, you rarely need a pot. Ran it last night with a slightly squishy wf paly, and ended up using one pot just to make sure i could spam recon and webs at the end, it tends to get messy if the tank holding agro dies and sully turns around and hits the party, curses and bats usually = wipe.

My recon caster solos it all the time, i dont feel good with 2 casters with scrolls only unless palol is on his tank

I have found that if you run a WF tank in VoD and have some clue as to the build and tactics, you should NEVER have to worry about losing aggro. I have run with many who say that lightning strike Shroud items will pull aggro every time, but have yet to witness this myself.

My best recommendation is to listen to the way the party leader wants to run it and simply comply. If there are any questions, bring them up via PMs so it does not turn into a he said-she said.

If you are lucky enough to run a WF and get in a run with a Sorc who can handle it....Quik for instance...then your job is cake

You should holla at ole Starlytes sometime This by far is my Favorite raid even tho both casters are set on gear from here...the cleric has over 30 runs... and the ranger an intimi tank (Molgar ask Spisey ...i was intimi orthon guy at lvl 12 even pulled an OOOPs sorry didnt mean to intimidate so close to Sally Sorry) only need completions....I will run this raid anytime on any toon thats needed..

This is 2nd time I have heard someone mention flaming sphere on caster for bats. I have not had the oppurtunity to try it out to see if it works. Has anyone here had good experience with it yet?

What we like to do is also use fogs. Fog up the main tank and put another fog with a web in it in another location. The concealment bonus from the devils/bats/orothons can save alot of SP's.

A few notes the Flaming sphear idea sonds interestign BUT dotn do it if your also WEBBING since the sphears will burn the web !!!

WEB + acid fog(even not acid speced just turn max/emp back on) every where kills bats & slows them down so much that they can never reach any one to detonate.

Holdign aggro on Sulu is NOT hard, my tempest monk AC build does it all the time with his min2 kama's he has 8 base STR!!!, I've had some of the BEST TWF barbs/STR Rangers all with dule min2/lightning strink opposite me, the trick really is, take a few seconds with the tank solo on sulu when he First drops down each time like 30 sec only, add in the times the main tank bodygoes off to kill adds and you such a damage lead that even if other out DPS trecnicaly they will never out agro you.

Personaly we always liked to take 2 casters partly to get all our casters there gear, and partly becuase DISPLACMENT at key times is a HUGE help to cleric SP.

The spells we like casters to have and use are Web(hightened), Acid fog, solid fog, Displacment, Stone skin(not as important especaly as lots of people have a min1 something nowadays; also wands work).

VoD is easy IF the group plays smart and controlls the fight, and casters can realyl help with both controll and HUGELY reducing cleric SP usage via displacment/stoneskin.


Also i secodn the suggestion to pick up Highten imo it;s a REQUIERED feat for sorcs! IF you have a MT or IMT thats an easy oen to drop for it, as a human sorc you should have the feats for it once you look at what you have.

not required but it is recomended.... my wf sorc gets the bats fine with web without heighten.... 32 cha and greater spell focus item..

Tossing a Waves of Fatigue off of some scrolls helps too.
