Go ahead and keep your stuff though, you might come back when you realize that most all other MMOs lack some things that make DDO fun.

I believe that turbine does in fact care about us, as much as they can. They work pretty hard at keeping the game running. It seems hard for them to get everything right, so i challenge YOU Adamkatt to do better.

I know i couldn't do better. thats why i still pay to play this game.

No.

You could just happen to have a screenshot, then have traded / assigned the tome to someone else who ate it.

When hardware / servers crash players will lose stuff. Be it a +2 tome, or a stack of Copper Coins and some Mushrooms from the Harbor. Characters will lose stuff.

That +1 Flaming Longsword might be just as important to that new player as a +2 tome was to you? Follow this path? If you start to "make good" on claimed losses everytime something burps in the game or hardware goes south, pretty sure that effort becomes its own industry pretty soon. In order to make any sort of timely restitution, lets just say an item(s) restored within a weeks time, and using the low end of possible numbers in an above post, that would mean 8 to 10 more employees assigned to just handle restoring items full time for a week with every incident that inccurs item loss. How much more a month are you willing to pay for that level of service? How would you feel if your restitution request takes a week to handle / process? What if it took a month (assuming no new server issues in the meantime)?

Computers crash and hang up. It happens. Deal with it or not, but life in the pixel world goes on. I deal with systems where life might not go on, and the expense of those systems is not something any GAME could possibly bear to support.
